We see Olivers surgeon today for our 8 week checkup! I am both excited and nervous about it. I just hope that all is as supposed to be when he checks his legs. Oliver is so ready to break free from his confinement! He has been a real trouper all these weeks, but, he is pretty much over it at this point! I dont know what the next step is but i guess i will find out today at 2pm....please say a little prayer for him that all is well...Thank you so much!!

I am glad to hear he is doing well. I will be saying a prayer that everything goes well with the checkup. I'm sure it will.

Good Luck at the check-up today! I remember hitting that 8 week point and thinking we've finally made it. I'm hoping Oliver and you get wonderful news.

Well, they took xrays and the doc said he is very pleased with how things are healing!

He said the pins are in place and all looks very good. However, it is not time to set him totally free

...6 more weeks of confinement. But, he wants him walking on leash 3-4 times a day starting with 5 minutes each time and every 2 weeks i have to double the time. He is allowed to be free in a small room as long as there is nothing to jump up on or down from..I have doggie steps for Oliver all over the house, but, he cannot use them for the next 6 weeks either. I guess it all makes sense...basically he has to ease back into normal life! So...that is exactly what we will do!!

I am thankful that Oliver is doing well. I missed your original post but was reading it and when I scanned down I found that you had heard from the vet. Sending loads of prayers for a continued recovery. I'm still waiting for the biopsy report on my sweet Odie. You will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. Oh, I am so happy he is healing up well! Sorry he's still "in jail" for another 6 weeks - but, after that, he'll be good as new!!

Sorry I missed this post earlier Jeanne. Glad to hear he is recovering nicely and at least gets semi sprung. The next six weeks will go fast.

Woohoo, you go Oliver! You just did 8 weeks. Six weeks will seem like nothing (except to your mama!)
