| I'm sorry for all the problems your son seems to be having! Just try to be strong and don't get too concerned until further testing is done. Did they tell you what kind of amounts there were? When I was in my teens a doctor told me I had more than normal amounts of protein in my pee and he wanted to make sure my kidneys were working fine. I went to tons and tons of specialists, had ultrasounds (found damage on my right kidney) and had blood and urine samples taken for a long time. They never really found out what caused it. I still go to the kidney specialist for tests every two years, but the last time I went he told me my kidney function had improved 200% since the last time he saw me. One of my doctors is really into natural remedies, and he told me to eat a lot of alfalfa. So I bought alfalfa sprouts and put them in salads and sandwiches. He told me alfalfa is supposed to be great for kidneys. And remember... kids' bodies seem to be able to get through things a lot easier than adults. I hope everything turns out okay!

| It does sound like you have had more than your share of health problems with your son, but I can sympathize. My husband went in to kidney failure last December and has been going for dialysis three times a week. But the good thing that happened from it is that Maybelline came into our lives. I bought Maybelline for him when we learned his kidneys failed and she is truly his dialysis buddy because she will just lay in his lap for hours after he comes home from dialysis. He is waiting for a transplant and hopefully it will be soon. We will keep Logan in our prayers.

I Love My Babies Donating Member | I am glad to hear that the counts have gone down. If I were you, I would not cancel the appointment until you are satisfied that his counts are going to stay down. If it would make you feel better, go ahead and see the specialist. You have both been through a lot. He must be a very special little boy.. and I can tell that you love him very much. Hugs to both of you and I will keep you both in my prayers.
