Golden Sable Yorkie I recently lost my 8 month old golden sable yorkie as a result of a medical condition. This has been devastating to my family. She was the smartest and most loving pet I had ever had. I've been looking for another pup like her because she was so beautiful and rare. Do any of you know of a breeder in Florida that sells that particular type of yorkie? I found a breeder of chocolate yorkies in Orlando but, the cost was a bit out of my rage with the existing hospital bills from my deceased pup.

| I am very sorry for the loss of your puppy. What type of medical condition did she have that she died at such a very young age? As for your question regarding a Golden Sable Yorkie I'm not really sure what that means. Was her hair blonde?

Most yorkies are born black and tan. Some will go really light in color when they get older and some will stay dark. There are breeder that breed for other colors like parti, golden or chocolate. Those colors are considered a fault by the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America. Rather than just focusing on color you might want to make your main priority getting a yorkie from a reputable breeder that breeds healthy sound yorkies. Personalities vary so much in yorkies so when you do find your special baby don't expect her to be just like the precious girl you lost.

So, so sorry for the loss of your puppy. Losing one is devastating but at such a young age, oh my heart breaks for you. Listen to bjh she is really smart and knows her stuff. Really work hard to find a reputable breeder, it is way more important than color. All of the reputable breeders I know would have given you a contract that states they will cover the cost if something like this happens. The best breeders will give five or 6 year contracts like this. I really feel for you. Best of luck. Last edited by swan; 08-07-2014 at 07:27 PM. Reason: misspelled name

We've got a blonde yorkie. Her mum was blonde and only had 2 pups, the boy pup was standard colour and our pup was blonde. She was darker sable when she was a puppy but she's turning lighter as she grows older.

No such thing as a Golden Sable Yorkie. You can have a Yorkie that is all Golden with some black. Sable usually mean black. They are every changing. You can't control there hair color. But if someone is trying to sell you a Yorkie labels as Golden, Chocolate, Black. And says they are rare and wanna charge you an arm and leg. I would not buy from them. They aren't a reputable breeder. If someone has the dogs and gives you a fair price thats one thing. But purposely breeding these colors isn't what a breeder will do trying to keep the standard. These a greeders who try to sell them as rare and for way to much $$$$.

I'm not saying everyone who want to breed there pup is a greeder also. Some ppl have dogs and they just wanna have pups. But thats not what Traditional breeders do. Then theres the ppl who pump puppies out and try to pass them as rare and want $2500+ for them. No papers. Papers don't make the dog either but the high price you are paying for is the lines the health checks ect. No for a fault color.JMO Last edited by ironmike86; 03-01-2015 at 08:52 AM.
