| Williamsburg, VA?? Has anyone taken their dog(s) to Williamsburg, VA? I read that all outdoor areas in Colonial Williamsburg are dog-friendly. Does anyone know if this true?? Any suggestions for things to do, restaurants, lodging, etc?

| I've been to Williamsburg, Va a long long time ago. I don't remember any dogs, but it's a very interesting place to go for a vacation. I was like 13 or something maybe a little older, so it wasn't that important to me, but I would love to go back and actually learn something. I know that Bush Gardens and Water Country USA is close by we went there. They are both fun to go to for a day each. |

| I am not sure about pets but from what I've read online, it sounds like you can take your dog on the grounds of Williamsburg and Jamestown. Some restaurants will allow dogs in the outside seating areas. There is also Jamestown and Yorktown near by and oodles of outlet malls ... hope you like to shop! ;-) I love Williamsburg, I stayed in one of the colonial houses next to the Williamsburg Inn (the Chiswell-Bucktrout house) it was beautiful.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | As long as you don't plan to tour inside any of the buildings...you'd be okay. Are you planning a summer visit? Let me forewarn you....it's very hot and humid. Today it's suppose to be 98 degrees.

| Gosh, I'm originally from Yorktown, VA, which is next to Williamsburg. I don't know if dogs are allowed in outdoor seating areas in some restaurants. I remember seeing people with dogs on Colonial Parkway at the scenic stops and on Yorktown Beach. I've also seen people with small dogs inside The Pottery. I did find this: Visiting Williamsburg with my dog (Yorktown: home, condo, rent) - Virginia (VA) - City-Data Forum DogFriendly.com's Travel Guide: Colonial Williamsburg DogFriendly.com's City Guide: Williamsburg, Virginia

| Thanks everyone. I'm originally from VA and have been to Williamsburg many times- just never with the dogs. My Mom actually only lives a couple of hours away so I think we might just make a day trip out of it. Thanks again!
