| Donating YT 7000 Club Member | I'm undecided on how I feel about this. However, I don't think they should say how many posts there should be. People do "spam" posts (posts that are just one word..etc.) all the time. There's a way to wrack up your post count. and plus, not everyone has enough TIME to be on here often enough to make that many posts. JMO.

I haven't yet read this entire post, but was glad to see your post. I'm not a breeder, but I had my own business for years, and this is what I believe: If YT said you could advertise them before 10 weeks, but run a disclaimer, there would be NOTHING to stop people from pming each other and letting the advertised pups go before 12 weeks. How would YT possibly enforce it??? I also like your idea of showing the pups in the nursery. Anyone interested in a new pup is probably glued to that forum anyway... I know it probably seems like a harsh rule. But, it does seem like a good way to safeguard the pups, and afterall, isn't that what everyone wants. I also think it'll deter those breeders off who pop in here just to sell their pups but never visit any other time. This is jmo, and I don't mean to offend anyone. Interesting topic!

My little girl was 6 weeks old when I got her. I have learned so much on this forum about puppies and wish that my little one would have remained with her mommy a bit longer. I have been able to compare the difference between my little girl and puppies from birth to 12 weeks of age, when they go to their forever home. What a major difference. My little one I feel was cheated. JMO. | |

I understand what you are saying. I got my Autumn at six weeks and she would have been better kept until atleast 8 weeks, IMO. I don't think any puppies should go before 8 weeks of age.

| Im not sure what the benefit of the 10 week rule is really. Why 10 weeks? I agree a puppy should never leave their mother sooner then 8 weeks, preferably 10-12 weeks minimum stay but 8 weeks is legal in states who do have puppy age laws. I guess Im just confused how that helps in the for sale thread? I could see a rule against advertising unborn puppies or any puppy under 8 weeks even, but I just dont under 10 weeks. I guess Im missing the point, or the reasoning. I have used the for sale forum a few times, but it hasnt been common for me. SO its not that. Unless you are a very frequent poster, alot of people wouldnt know to look in the nursery. If someone posts a puppy that will be available for a home at 6 weeks, doesnt mean they are releasing then. I like looking at the for sale threads, I thought it was fun to see puppies growing and knowing they are available early. Im not in the market to buy a puppy just like looking. Just curious about the new rule and how 10 weeks came about and just wondered if someone could clarify the reasoning? |

| I guess I kinda feel that the new rule penalizes people/breeders/ members it should not, but all with the sincere best intentions. I see there are some breeders on here who have released puppies to other YT members, advertised early, and the new owners are really happy. These are frequent posters or long time members who take great pride in releasing their puppies to good homes, taking extra measures to try to ensure 100% puppies, and they would stand behind their guarantees. Would probably go the extra mile. For those people under those circumstances, when they offer their puppies, they know they are under a big magnifying glass and they plan on making the transaction more then satisfactory or excellent. Its alot about reputation, truth and intregrity. You cant guarantee some things but you certainly want the puppy and the owner to be happy. Its extremely important to them and they would work with you. I think member status, such as the number of threads is more fair, not just posts, but threads. |

| I would rather place my babies with yt'ers if possible because you know they are going to good homes but I really need to advertise them earlier than ten weeks so I have time to place them. I have another litter coming the first of Feb and i would love to know that these have been spoken for and are going to good homes when old enough. |

| I do not use Yorkietalk for advertisement for my puppies almost never. I have placed ONE SPECIAL BOY to ONE SPECIAL YT MEMBER. I just like to state my opinion. Makes me feel very important. |
