Donating YT 14K Club Member | For sale theads... Is it possible that after a breeder posts their "for sale" threads WITH pictures that the threads could automatically be locked? I've seen so many threads that have gotten way off topic. This way, if someone is interested, they can pm the breeder and get their questions answered that way.

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | That would be a good idea. It's just that then the thread would die and maybe someone would miss it. What if they were (temporarily) stickied?

| The way these for sale posts always seem to go way off topic and end up being extremely rude to the seller sometimes ( actually, a lot of the time) is why i didn't post my puppy for sale on this forum. I am really sensitive and if people start lashing out at me over a price, size or whatever , I probably would leave the forum. I posted my little puppy on another forum and not even one person said, "WOW that price is high or that price is ridiculous." i would like to be able to post my litters on here but don't want to deal with the rudeness. I ask what I feel is a fair price for MY dogs. It is cheaper than some and higher than some but is what I feel my pups are worth. |

I can't believe people actually do that. I've never looked at those threfads because I'm not looking for a puppy, but I don't understand bashing someone. If you don't like the dog or the price, then move on. If you like the dog, but not the price then PM the person and make an offer.

You perhaps remember the alleged puppies for sale from Julia I believe the name was who sounded much like Elena, both very suspect. Lock a thread after a post will leave a field day for anyone not quite on the up and up to scam anyone on the Forum Personally, I would love to see the Yorkies for sale/Wanted and stud services for sale/wanted off this forum totally. It is this stuff that is causing a lot of the discord but the answer could be to remove that feature completely from YT, breeders looking for sales can be advertised totally elsewhere that they want to on the Internet. Let YT return to being a pet forum for pet YOrkie owners to talk about their furkids. Or to ask what to do if such and such happens or how to find a reputable breeder, that sort of stuff.

| For Sale Threads I agree with Lorraine. If the thread was locked, people who are unethical could really suck in people and there would be nobody there to challenge what they say. How many innocent people have been warned off from getting involved with some of these people selling puppies on the internet and losing their money. I think all sales of live animals should be removed from the internet. What is with people that they will just sell a living animal to anyone that has the cash? They can say all they want about being picky about who gets their puppy but I can tell you, anyone can talk a good game and claim to be what they are not. And don't think that people like that aren't experienced at fooling the public. I would never buy a puppy without meeting the breeder, seeing at least the mother of the puppy and the place the puppy was raised in. And I would be rather suspect of anyone who would sell a puppy without meeting/knowing the person doing the buying. JMO and I am sticking to it. |

Administrator | YorkieTalk has always had a forum for those seeking to find Yorkies new homes and we will continue to do so. We do not profit at all from any breeders or members listing Yorkies for sale or if they find their Yorkie a new home. We want to help those that are looking for Yorkies as well as help good, ethical breeders place Yorkies in good and appropriate new homes. You may avoid this particular forum if you want. There have been many, many wonderful stories of YorkieTalk members finding their Yorkies via YorkieTalk and we hope that continues. We believe an open forum where members and prospective Yorkie parents can discuss and ask questions is the most effective method and safest method for those looking for Yorkies. We do require the For Sale form to be filled out, which definitely helps cut down on fraud. An open flow of discussion can be very beneficial to those that many not be very experienced in finding a Yorkie breeder. We encourage all members who are looking for Yorkies to visit the Yorkie in person before purchasing and to ask as many questions as they can. We do not tolerate rudeness and personal attacks in any posts on YT, and members do get suspended or banned due to that. We try to keep For Sale threads to be on topic, as only relevant questions or comments are allowed. |
