| Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | ps...so I don't sound like a complete jerk - when I said the above I think I was reacting to the implication that this is mindless or a waste of time that could be otherwise spent. It's not. My favorite part about being on forums IS the people I get to meet that I would otherwise never have had a chance to get to know. One of my favorite feelings is knowing my small voice on the net MAY make someone feel better - or enlighten them ... I remember being a newbie. The board I joined 3 years ago didn't offer the help that people offer here....I was SO lost and remember asking for help cause I had never heard of 'An Avatar" and the person who responded was like - "Uh....it's a small picture under your name". Well - duh I found THAT info on the net....but I WANTED one !!! Did they offer to help ? Nope. Did anyone else respond ....Nope. Did I feel like a moron ? Yup. (Result of that experience ...I taught myself how to make my own so I would never have to ask for help again - Which is why I make them now for anyone who asks) Mindless ??? Yes - but I get satisfaction that I will never make anyone feel as stupid as I did when I was new. Anyway I guess my point is ......no matter HOW MANY TIMES We see a thread repeated - there is someone on the other end who has NEVER seen it....they're the ones I think of when I see the same things over and over. |

| I think a lot of it for some is just the social interaction with other people. Researching something and actually getting to discuss it is different.

| Villette...I haven't been here long, but any time I've posted with questions or anything, you have always been there...with kindness and compassion. You are that way with all YT'ers...old timers or newbies, it doesn't matter. You always go out of your way to make people feel like they're listened to, to hold a hand, to pat a back, to give a hug. It means so much to all of us (here I am speaking for other people....but I think they'll agree with me!!) I just wanted you to know that all of those posts...well, it's not just a big number. It shows that many thousands of times you have helped others and shared a kind word. That's many thousands of times you've made someone feel better. I think that's something to be very proud of! I'm really glad that you're taking time out of your day to be here...the place wouldn't be the same without you. |

| Quite frankly I think this thread was started for even MORE controversy or just to make otherse feel unwelcome. Then comes the insulting bit about people who don't work or don't have at least 3 jobs don't have a life. So I don't know which is worse. I think if you feel burned out, take a break without making a huge deal out of it and making others feel unwelcome or their questions unwarranted. All these people that are complaining about same ole' questions, blah blah blah, well what the heck do you think YOU were doing when you joined this board??? My guess is probably asking the same questions that someone else asked a month before you joined. So don't you think it's a little unfair to complain at this point? Unless of course you were born knowing how to raise/breed/care for a yorkie, which obviously some do. I know I wasn't born that way and needed help, and YES I asked every question imaginable from potty training, to biting, to feeding, to health questions. Did I care if someone felt burned out? Heck no!!! I have a responsibility to care for my baby, and for those out there who have helped in the process, even though they probably answered similar questions in the past, THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR HELPING ME BE THE BEST YORKIE MOM! Sometimes a person needs the emotional support of a group. So to you Carole, it may just be another BORING question that someone else asked a million times, but to that person asking, it's a big deal and they need help. Not EVERYONE's circumstances are the same so it may be the same kind of question but different circumstances. Plus, who DOESN'T want to meet new people or hear others' responses?? When I first joined, I loved starting threads just to get to know some of the other members here. So don't knock people for asking questions, if you feel burned out, take a break or start new topics, but don't make people feel bad for having questions that I'm sure you had at one time.

| Villette, I only know you through your posts. You always seem to have a great post (answer). I agree with you, however, I must admit I have said many times to myself, not again, I just saw this post somewhere! .Thank you for reminding me to have patience. I too was lost when I first came here. So to all you newbies, welcome, you have come to a great place for information and friendship. CarolVillette, Your pups looking through the fence pictures are priceless! |

| I haven't been on YT for as long as a lot of people, however i will share what i think about the repetitive threads: As yorkie lovers it is OUR JOB to answer these questions, we care about this breed and dont want new owners buying from pet shops, puppy mills, or buying crossed bred puppies that they think are purebred. Its no different from working in a train station and people keep asking, what time is the train for such and such. If people didnt ask questions and nobody stared any threads, where would this forum be now? I also stay at home, as i work from home on my computer, but i also do housework, i cook, i run errands and i take care of my niece and nephew 3 days a week. I also walk my dogs 3 times a day, so im busy like the other members on here, so just because we post a lot does not mean we have nothing better to do. Its just about organising and scheduling your day and then you can fit it all in. |

| Donating YT 14K Club Member | I've been around for quite a while. While I enjoy seeing and meeting new people, I guess you can say that I've suffered from burn out stages at one point or another. Here is something that I did for a while...if I see a repeat question, I go and search past threads that are on a similar subject and post those threads for the OP. The only time I've gotten irritated is when the person completely ignores the links that were provided to them and continue to ask questions that had the answers in those links. That's when I just want to give up. There are many threads that have so much good information in them. So while I may not go back and repeat answers, I do try to provide links, somtimes. Hopefully, they'll go through and take the time to read these threads and get the answers they are looking for just as I've taken the time to search and post the links.

Well put and while you were asking all those question I was reading all the answer so I didn't have to ask.
