Donating YT 14K Club Member | Question about membership Got a question for Admin or anyone else that knows the answer. If I decided that I no longer wanted to be a member here as txshopper73 or that I didn't want that user name anymore, then I am allowed to "abandon" that userID and come up with another and that is perfectly okay. What makes it okay to abandon/create accounts but yet, we cannot change our user names? There have been several members here that wanted to change their user names and they were told they could not do that, yet a member was allowed to "abandon" her user name and come up with another one. So, according to this statement, admin luckierdog is an abandoned account and is no longer an active account (it is not usable by anyone). we all can do the same as nwyorkie, stop using our current ID and just make up another and it's acceptable. Thank you...I'm considering doing the same.

Administrator | Changing usernames screws up the database and makes threads confusing which is why we do not allow it. In a few cases, members have wanted new member names. We have allowed that but only if they abandon their current user account. If a member wishes to create a new account, they must notify us first. If a member uses two or more accounts simultaneously, they may be suspended or banned. We do not allow any banned members to have another YorkieTalk account. All suspensions or disciplinary action would be carried over to the new account. Any Donating Status membership, number of posts, private messages, and photo gallery pictures would not be carried over to the new account and the member may never use the old account again. The signature on the old account will be deleted as well. |
