| I'm definitely not admin or a moderator, but the suspension rules are somewhere around here. I think they are in the FAQ section. Usually the first suspension is 7 days, the second is 21 days, and the third is a permanent ban. Posting and PMing aren't allowed while suspended. If you follow YT rules, then you have nothing to worry about. If rules are broken on accident and/or it wasn't too serious, then you'd probably get a warning. It isn't easy to get suspended here really. The main thing is to just be kind. Personal attacks against others are definitely not tolerated. I hope that helps some. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/faq..._new_faq_item2

| Thanks, guys, for guiding me to the official suspension rules. I was thinking that if someone could get suspended, then someone fairly new to YT had better be clear as to the rules.

| Oh, now that makes sense why you were asking. I know every now and again it is good for me to review the rules.

| We're all human and discussions can get pretty heated and even the best lose their cool......so, it's best to walk away from the computer when one is angry....

| I have seen that YT members are compassionate AND passionate about everything yorkie...so, "walking away" from a heated discussion (however difficult that may be) makes perfect sense.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | It has been suggested on another site that YT admin plays favorites and some here can get away with posting whatever they wish.....not true. If anything, this should prove that YT admin is extremely fair in their judgment and no one is exempt from repercussions when a rule is violated. Many times I have typed out a post, "previewed" the post and had to change my words before hitting submit....other times I wish I had!

Honestly, YT is not the same for me anymore, because now nobody cares to respond to my threads or cares about my dogs anymore. Having a bad reputation is just as hard as getting suspended. Even if you had been a donating member, and had been on this site for a long time. It is best to keep your cool and ask for a thread to be closed if if comes too heated you can't handle it anymore.

We all make mistakes, and I'm sure we're all better people for learning them, hopefully. Also, sooooooooo many people here, including myself, have said things they wish they hadn't. You're not alone there. A 'reputation' goes both ways...it can always get better, even if it's been injured...and vice-versa.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | (Answers in bold) Being new to YT, I have questions about suspension rules. For what reasons are members suspended? This can't accurately be nutshelled. It could be one single event (attacking a member), or it can be several posts that add up to a suspension. Also, YT always tries to look at a member's situation as more of a whole -- and not just as that individual 'event'. For example, maybe a member's yorkie just died, and they flew off the handle about something...maybe that person deserves a bit of leeway. Can't really answer this as a black and white question...it's more like a gray area, for certain situations. How long does it last? Usually, the first suspension is 7 days -- other suspensions are often 2 weeks, or 3 weeks. Banning can happen if suspensions continue to be a problem. This is a passionate forum, so we really try to avoid banning so that all different kinds of members can be here. However, when someone goes way too far, it happens. Also, if/when someone is here solely to badger the community, or if they open accounts when previously banned...they are banned immediately. Can you still post while suspended? No. That would be grounds for being banned. Is there recourse if you think the suspension is unjustified? Rarely is a decision ever changed, unless there was some obvious mistake like wrong member was suspended (can't think of that having happened though), or creating a double-account wasn't intended, or somehow the wrong button was clicked on our end, or blah blee....that's all I can think of off of the top of my head. Can admin or a moderator help me out here? Hope that helped a little .
