| If only you would go through some of my past threads then you would know what I am about and I am fully aware of the dog world and animal welfare. I also sat on a dog board with breeders so I understand when breeders rehome their breeding dogs. Usually the word "culling" is used in the context of killing not rehoming BUT all of this is off tract. Nancy put out a suggestion to admin that when people threaten to kill their dogs they be banned. Quote:

| Thanks to Nancy for making the suggestion and Admin for considering it. MOST people on a board such as this value a dogs life as equal to that of a persons life and threats like this should never be tolerated even if they are not serious and just being used to toy with others emotions.

I like people too, and there were people here who never responded to her thread who were clearly upset by it and literally in tears over it. We have some very gentle hearts on this forum, and it upsets me greatly when they are upset. As others have mentioned this has happened in the past, I believe that it has happened on a training thread when one person was frustrated with housebreaking, and also a rehoming thread. I just think that this should be considered grounds for banning. Whether the OP will really harm the dog isn't the issue, the issue is that the words harm humans, and to me, seem much more attacking than any other words that can be said.

| I have only one thing to add here. Threatening to euthanize a dog is a very common threat in my world. Owners who demand that we help them immediately and certain types of breeders who want to push buttons do it. Happens all of the time. I no longer take it serious. Do I think it is despicable...and should people be banned for saying it? Yes, I believe they should be. They would be banned for saying it about a person...why not when it is about ANY living being? It is awful to even think the words and type them out.
