I proved a breeder had her Biewers listed with a Scottie Terrier group. This was an unreputable breeder and should not have free advertising on YT for her not handing her responsibilities.

Another YT member used the same Scottish Terrier rescue group to get her Yorkie from a breeder in Virginia..The Scottish Terrier group is in NY..

The YT member thought she was doing the right thing and while she loves her baby and everything is okay she is very upset she supported a greeder under the guise of a rescue. It was to late by the time I got involved but letters have been sent to petfinder (which I don't know will do a hill of beans good) and a few other places.

I'm a little confused, are you posting kijiji ads that list the shelter near you? How do you know its a good shelter besides it's no kill? What's the name of the shelter?

Oh yes I did see that thread when it was first posted, it got closed and I never knew why. just seen it was closed.

LOL NO not all those shelter ads are in my area. they are from all over.there are members here on YT from all over the world, who might be interested in them if its in their area.

I was talking about the shelter by me I know is a good shelter.


This thread was for admin not for me to answer all these questions.

lets focus on Yorkie Rescues & New Homes Needed Forum and how we can keep the ones ready to be PTS up top, while still posting shelter and rehomes.

Ok, sorry this is kind of getting away from the point of this thread I guess, but if I was to rescue a yorkie from a kill shelter, I could post it on here correct? Sometimes I see a dog in a shelter situation, but I know I can't take in every dog I see, but if I could list it here, I would feel more comfortable that I might find it a good home. Sorry, I just want to make sure that I am clear on everything.

There have been so many wonderful stories posted in the Rescue Forum over the past few years that I have been a member of YT. May Yorkies have been saved by rescues all over the country by a group effort of YTers. Everyone is always welcome to join in and help find a solution for a good outcome for some of the saddest stories that turned into happy endings. It is always heartwarming when you see a thread take off with that passion of trying to save "just one more". Even if we cannot save them all "just one more" help to make it to the next day for many of us~knowing there is another little one that found its way into a safe haven.

I believe THAT is what the rescue forum should be about. My Bogey came from the RF and I will be forever greetful to JackandJill for posting his cute little face. He will forever know what love is. Truman was also posted in the RF and came to live with me until his final days. His story played out on YT as well. Teagan was also in the RF posted by a breeder looking to sell him "as is". He went to YTNR and is now a beautiful little man that is able to WALK again. His story generated HUGE interest on YT~many member of YT donated to the rescue that helped make him whole again.

I guess the point that I am trying to make is that IMO the RF not only saves pups but it is also bringing awareness of WHAT rescue is and should be. It's not a place to fight and squabble about how many posts that someone makes and if you are in a rescue posting stories about a dog that was saved. That is just craziness~if a little ones story brings even a little awareness to the members of YT what rescue is all about them why argue? If we can let someone know that a pup or "rescue" is not legitaimate and open someone's eye about how slimy some breeders~isn't that what we all are trying to achieve~better knowledge to safe pups?

I do think it is a privledge to post in the RF and do not plan on losing that priveldge any time soon. I always use care in my posts as I do not want to ever unintentionally push a post for a pup down that needs our help. It's not a game that I want to partake in now or ever.

If ever I posted something that distracted from the urgent needs of a pup in need I would hope that some type of repricussions would be in place. This needs to be very clearly outlined so there are NO MISUNDERSTANDING when that line is crossed. I think this is an excellent idea as I believe that it takes dedication and love of God's creatures to be a volunteer for a rescue. There is a LOT of good going on in the Rescue Forum and a lot of wonderful dogs have been saved. I for one am PROUD to be part of this effort.

Yes I think you can, I have seen others post their dogs on there that they have rescued. and they were not closed threads.

admin can answer this one better. that was just my guess.

Well, IMO it would be best if you were part of a rescue when you are pulling dogs out of a shelter. You never know the medical bills that you might be faced with and it could be a huge stain on an individual. A legitimate rescue has a support system in place that would guide you when it came type to rehome a pup. In addition, a rescue would have certain things in place that would ensure that any dog they rehomed would never be homeless again. There is usually a contract that is signed, background check on applicants, home visit etc to ensure that the dog is going to a really good home. These things are sometimes hard for an individual to do without a support system. If you would like to be a member of a rescue all you need to do it apply. There are so many dogs that need home, are surrendered, at kill shelters any one that could possibly be part of a rescue would be greatly appreciated.

Picking up dogs from shelters and then rehoming them is mostly breaking the contract that you sign when you adopted them from the shelter. This is not something that rescues really like to see happening. When a dog goes to a rescue these is different paperwork that is filled out.

I dont think many shelters have contracts. they have an adoption form.
