| Excessive licking = raw skin Hi guys, okay I took my Zoey to her groomer on Wednesday. She is at the end of her season so her pee-pee is still a little swollen. The groomer shaved it (?? - is that normal?) and now Zoey won't stop licking it. In addition, she keeps dragging her bottom all over the floors, I assume in an attempt to scratch it. Her little pee-pee is raw and I'm getting so worried! Do you have any suggestions? I put her seasonal diaper back on so as to keep her from licking it, but is there an ointment I can put on it to help it heal??? What do you think?

| She has gotten razor burn and it was itching her and now by dragging herself around she has made is worse and raw. This happened to my Roxy. I took her to the Vet. He gave her a shot, rubbed some 'stuff' on her privates and gave me an antihistamine to give her for 7 or 10 days. The problem that you have now, is that it is raw and she is licking and she will NOT stop doing what she is doing and it can't heal and may even get infected. I think you should go to the Vet (sorry) P.S. Now you must tell your groomer to never do that again |

| Thank you so much for your quick response TLC!! Yes, time for a new groomer I'm afraid as there are also knicks on the inside of her leg!

| I'm sorry to hear this. I hope the vet can help you out, and I think keeping diapers on her will make her less likely to lick it.
