| Mister Darcy is unwell! Hi all, I have just discovered this site and wonder if anyone can help me. I have a yorkie - not a minature one, but about 12 lbs, and he is unwell. Yesterday afternoon he was sick, yellow bile - and this has happened before, sometimes when he eats something that doesn't agree with him, so I kept an eye on him, and he seemed to be ok. However, this morning, my boyfriend said that Mister Darcy had been sick again and it was slightly red (he didn't think it was blood), I couldn't check myself as I have recently broken my knee, and I'm stuck in bed. Darcy doesn't move from me at the best of times, but also constantly lying the bed since I have been poorly, but he seems far more lethargic today, and I am concerned. He seemed to perk up when my boyfriend asked if he wanted to go for a walk, and was okay when he took him out, and I can now hear him barking as my boyfriend vacuums downstairs - but he doesn't seem quite right. I have taken his food off him a couple of hours ago, and was going to just watch him - is that what everyone suggests? He hasn't been ill since this morning and I have checked his skin and he doesn't seem to be dehydrated and also has a cold wet nose. He has just come back up to see me and is sprawled again across the bed, and is very cuddly with me. I have to go to hospital myself tomorrow, and I think that Darcy knows that I am unwell as he is always next to me, but I need to know that he is okay also! Apologies if I am rambling, but I do need some advice! Thanks in advance! |

| I'm sorry about Mister Darcy and also about your knee. Just for your peace of mind could you have him checked by your vet before the hospital visit tomorrow. Best of luck to you both. Patty |

| I agree, the redish tint to the vomit would worry me. Maybe his tummy is just irritated, but I would want to make sure. Did you feed him anything different than normal? I agree, a trip to the vet to make sure. Welcome to YT! Hope you recover quickly from your knee accident.

| Thanks! You are both so kind - he appears to have perked up - so much so that my boyfriend just had to chase him around our house as Darcy had stolen a piece of pizza!! lol. He is so naughty - but I am just relieved! I will watch him tonight and give him the sugar water - that's great advice. I will see what he is like when I get back from the hospital tomorrow (my appointment is first thing), and then if needed take him to the vets! Thanks so much - it's just so worrying when the baby is sick! Also, is this site just for the States, as I am in the UK! Will update tomorrow! Natalie |

| It sounds to me like he is stressed. Maybe because your in bed all the time, which to him isn't normal. I don't know what you feed him, but don't give him anything with artificial coloring in it. A lot of kibble has coloring added, as well as a lot of doggie treats. Let your boyfriend walk him a couple times a day and to play with him. This will lift his spirits. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | How is Mister Darcy (you must be a fellow Pride & Prejudice fan, like me!) today? I was wondering what kind of food you're feeding. If the nauseousness continues, you could feed boiled chicken and rice for awhile. I also wonder if he got into something that upset his little tummy. Finally, when is Mister Darcy going to get his Miss Elizabeth?

| Mister Darcy is well again!!! Hi all, Indeed it would seem that Yorkie love is International - I am so glad that I found this site!! Darcy is well again, which is amazing news - I think that he has been stressed as i am unwell as suggested, so I have allowed him to see that I am okay, by playing with him (as in throwing toys from my bed - lol), and since this has happened he is back to his old self!! As for me, I am still awaiting my op, and have also found out today that there are redundancies being made in work - so I think it's a bad month or something - but the most important thing is that my baby is well. Some people laugh at me - but I have wanted a Yorkie for so long, and get nothing but love from Darcy - I had him from a rescue home, and he had been very badly beaten (how can people do such horride things?!!) - but now he is loved and cared for by me and my boyfriend! And yes - I am a P&P fan - I studied English at University - and I just thought that the name Mister Darcy was so cute - he has such character - as all Yorkie's do, and I thought the name would just be totally cute!! Thank you all for your kind wishes from the otherside of the pond - guess the distance isn't that far at all really?!! Natalie & Mister Darcy xx |

| My knee Hi Patty - I have to have keyhole surgery - I'm waiting for an MRI scan at the moment - and then in for the operation - it is to remove the piece of bone that has chipped off part of the knee, as it is just floating about at the moment and causing a crazy amount of pain I only fell up some stairs at the train station - who would have thought that such a simple slip could cause so much pain?!! Just want to get well again really! Think I'm gonna post some pics of Darcy on this site to cheer me up!! Natalie x |

| Would love to see pix. Hope your surgery goes well. I wonder is keyhole surgery the same as orthoscopic??? They just make a small incision or in my case and my daughters, 3 small incisions. Hope all goes well with you. Patty |
