I know that smell you're talking about. It is like the smell of amniotic fluid. I remember when my water broke with my first. Chloe had a diarrhea with that same smell, so I know what you mean there.

To me, that bloody stuff looks like tissue and blood. I'd get her in asap.

oh Brooke I just read this! I am so sorry and I hope everything turns out to be okay. The first thing I thought when I saw the pictures is that it is not that bad, i mean it can be a bad thing but i dont think it is just because these little ones poop out weird stuff all the time and one time London pooped out something that looked just like those pics. It was like a poopy gel, excepy it was green and red, like it had a little blood in it. I took her to the vet and they said it was prob. from straining and nothing serious. It turned out to be nothing, however it never hurts to go to the vet, they should know everything there :thumbup:

BTW I took pics of the poop just in case and let me tell you they are GROSS! lol so i won't post them but i know just how you feel

Brooke, I'm so sorry to hear that little Tatum isn't feeling well. I will keep her (and you) in my prayers and hope that it turns out to be nothing serious. Try to get some rest tonight.

It could be the pain meds... I interned in an orthopedic clinic as a medical assistant... and many patients were on pain meds and had rectal bleeding... most of the time the pain meds are what caused the bleeding. I'm not sure, but I would take her to the vet immediately.

I hope Tatum feels better

Thanks so much girl, I really do appreciate it :) I have no idea what it is either...it sounds like it could be a number of things from everything I've read :( I just hope that it is nothing that is super serious :(

You know girl, that is EXACTLY what I thought. It looks to me like there is some tissue in it....I was wondering if anyone else was going to mention that :cry:

I actually got more pics of it...and one of them I think you can see what looks to be "tissue" a little better, as it was a close-up pic. I will look and see if I can find it and if I can, I will post it.

Thanks girl! Reading that does make me feel a little better. Gosh I hope that it is NOTHING! I really do. I am just going to FREAK OUT if the vet has bad news.

I am going to make sure that she sees her regular vet, as there is a new vet up there and I just don't know him all that well (she's only seen him once) - and I just feel more comfortable with her seeing her regular vet, because he knows her - and he knows me.

UGH...I just want this all to be over with and I want my baby better! :cry:

Ok don't think I am some weird FREAK or something, lol....but would you mind e-mailing them to me? Just so I can see them to compare with the pictures that I took? I PROMISE you I'm not weird. LOL.

Thanks so much Selina :( I really appreciate it. I too am praying so hard that it is nothing serious and it is something that can be treated quick, and easy :(

Thanks so much for the info. Do you think it could still be the pain meds causing all this even though she stopped taking them almost 4 weeks ago?? The vet told me that it was VERY concentrated and strong, which is why she was only allowed to be on it for 3 days (taking it once a day for 3 days). She started taking it on the 13th of June and her last dose was given on the 15th of June.

It did cross my mind about the pain meds causing her to do this...but I just didn't know because it's been almost 4 weeks? Granted I am no doctor, or vet...so I have no idea.

Do you think it is a possibility?? :confused:

LOLOL You're so funny!!!!!!!!! Girl, just because you think you're alone, you're not! We are all obsessed with our babies some way or another! I even examine Baby's poop when I pick it up! :eek: And once she took 10 poops on my cousin's rug (in one sitting) and I took a pic of that. LOL

Back to seriousness...has she pooped since then?

Oh good Lord...I am so glad you posted that, LOL!!! I swear I was thinking the entire time...omg - people are going to think I am some kind of WEIRDO because I wanted Sarah to e-mail me pics of her babies POOP!!!! :eek: lol! I told Sarah in the PM I sent her that we must be TRUE Yorkie lovers to be exchanging POOP PICS :D LOLOL!

Oh...and Tate has not pooped ANYTHING at all since I gave her the Kaopectate! :D Man, she LOVED that stuff!! :eek: I also did what her breeder recommended and mixed her some fresh sugar water, and of course gave her Nutri-Cal. Oh, and I also gave her a syringe full of Pedialyte :thumbup: She is sleeping right now...so FOR NOW, everything seems to be ok :confused:

Gosh...I am probably going to be up all night watching her!

Oh yeah...I have one window open reading about Colitis, and one window open to YT to keep checking for new reply's and PM's! lol :D

I hope she feels better soon! Lacy has had diarrhea before and ended up having that mucuousy looking stuff come out when there is nothing else left to poop. I haven't ever seen bloody specs in hers before..just the slimy yellowish stuff. I hope it's just an upset tummy and not giardia. Let us know what the vet says tomorrow. Tatum is so adorable. Is South the name of a town or just the area of texas you are from? I've heard of the town West, TX but not South

Thank you so much! I too hope that it is not Giardia, but I swear...at this point I just DON'T know anymore :( I keep going back and forth over what I think it might be. I am just so confused right now...but hopefully tomorrow I will have some answers :(

Also, thank you for the compliments on my little Tate :) She is a sweetie pie alright, I just wish she was feeling better :( It just breaks my heart when she's sick!

South Texas is actually just where I am from in Texas, not the name of the actual town :) We are about an hour and 1/2 from Houston...we are wayyyy down at the very BOTTOM of Texas, lol.

You know this happen to my Duncan about a week or so ago, but not as much blood that night just a small smug. If it wasn't for YT and all the reading I have done here about other members with the same systems, I would have ran to ER at 10pm. I just cleaned him up very well and he slept just fine.

The next morning he did bloody poop like your baby and then I made a 12:00 noon appointment and took a sample of him poop.

It came back no parasites, he has an infection in his stomach ( maybe from a bad bug..LOL) so his on meds and no more bloody poop.

I have learned so much here!!!!!

Kikko had BOTH giardia and coccidia (he also had another called isospora???) .. it was a HORRIBLE few months for us. but from your pics it definitely looks like one of the too. other than his diarrhea/soft stools/bloody stools, he was completely normal (good appetite, lots of energy, etc...) he was on meds for 6 wks was the longest i think ... we couldn't not determine what exactly was causing all his diarrhea and bloody stools. DEFINITELY do the tests that will specifically identify which parasite it is. Giardia is really hard to find .. we found ONE cell in one sample out of at least 15 samples, i swear. they are hard buggers to find.

i know how you feel brooke, don't worry she will get better, and you will be SO happy when you get that first good poop!!! haahaha! and you'll be able to lower hte vet visits from weekly to monthly.

and i am def part of the club that took pictures of kikko's bad poops! (my vet and i have a communication problem, so I use lots of videos and pictures to show him whats wrong. haha)

Brooke, with all the rain you guys have had - it is entirely possible she has contracted Giardia. Take the sample into your vet and see if that is it. The first time Sissy had Giardia she had so much explosive diarrhea and then it was just mucous and blood.

Please let us know how Tatum is. Sending you and she (and Steddy, too) lots of hugs and get well wishes!!!

I definitely DON\'T think you\'re crazy. I\'ve done it myself many times to take to the vet with me. THe last time it happened, there was so much blood, I didn\'t think they\'d believe me w/o pictures.

Poor baby - I would freak too but try to stay calm - everyone posted what it COULD be and it very well could be something like an irritated bowel or a parasite...Chanel had coccidia as a baby and it did look very much like that right before we took her to the ER...with a tiny yorkies tummy - they can irritate easily. Take your sample in and the vet should be able to help - in the meantime - LOTS OF WATER and maybe some chicken with rice.....the main thing is to keep her hydrated and good luck
