| Help!!!!!!!! Sadie was spayed, microchipped, and had a baby canine tooth removed today. I've been so upset about it that I didn't post anything prior to this. I dropped her off at 7:45 a.m. and picked her up at 4:00. She's still very groggy and moans and whimpers when i move her. Just gave her a pain pill about an hour ago - so hopes that works really soon. They sent her home with an E Collar and I had bought two preemie onesies for her. I took off work tomorrow to be with her - but I'm worried about what to do on Wednesday when I go back to work. If I put the onesie on her, she won't be able to use her pee pads, but I'm scared to death to leave her for any length of time with the E Collar on - what if she tried to get it off (which I'm sure she would try to do) and strangled herself!!! Any suggestions??????????

| If you're concerned about the stitches, Ginger didn't trouble with hers AT ALL after the first day. By Wednesday it may not be an issue. Good luck and keep us posted.

| Ohhh hunny.....I sure do feel for you and your baby.....I dont know much about the e collars, but it sounds like she may be more comfy with just a onesie.......do you work full time? If so maybe you can get someone to come and check on your baby during the day.....Hope all goes well. Good luck.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I snapped Cali's onsie over to one side and she was able to pee on her pads and still not get at her stitches.

| She will be fine by tomorrow!! I just went through this last Monday with Truffles. I will try to post a picture of Truffles in her onsie....I never used that silly collar! I put it on backwards, and then marked it with a feltpen from just where her stitches stop, around and above her tail! Almost like chaps!! She can do ALL her business without even getting these wet! And she looks so darned cute that these are her new nighties! Anyway, it's super easy, looks cute and works perfectly....let me know if you need to see her picture!!

| If you're really concerned have you considered having her stay at the vet while you're at work and picking her up on your way home? That way they could keep an eye on her. Maybe for the first couple of days or something just to put your mind at ease..... |

| You guys are so lucky, if I take the e-collar off of Miko after he's had a surgery, he will pick at his stitches for at least the first week. So we have to keep it on. It scares me to death to leave it on him while we're gone if he has free reign of the house, so I just stayed home with him during his recovery period. If I have to leave, I put him in an area that I know he can't hurt himself. Great suggestions, everyone!

| Ok I just posted a thread with her pictures in her onsie...I will post here for you and also the onsie off her so you can see it. Its supper easy...I bought a pack of them at Target for like 10 bucks The last picture is what I did the day after surgery...I just wrapped a bandana around her and that totally worked too! But if you aren't home you can't be sure she won't get it off.....

| There is another item on the market that is even better than an e collar. It looks like a tiny little flotation device that goes around the neck. (comes in all different sizes depending on the dogs size) They can't bend the head low enough to chew on any stitches, but it doesn't get in the way of them eating or drinking or getting in and out of their crate and so on. |
