| Lucy is sick again Alright, Lucy has been okay for a few days now and all of a sudden this morning she started throwing up again. It started off foamy and then it was really snotty like and would string from her mouth. I was gagging it was so bad. A couple days ago when she was sick it was like just her food in the vomit and she had diarrhea. My dad called the vet for me and took care of her because I had two 12+ hour days in a row. The vet said to give her chicken and rice and take her off her food. So that is what we did until the diarrhea let up then we gave her a little bit of Royal Canin (her original food). There was no food in this vomit, a few chunks of rice and thats about it. She won't drink any water yet or take Nutrical and her gums are grayish. I am about to call the vet but I thought I'd start here to see if you guys had any ideas! Oh, now that she is done throwing up she is running around the house fine. Could it have been sinus drainage???

| As soon as the kids get up I have to feed them something right away or they will vomit. The Vet said acid builds up in their tummies overnight, & if they don't eat right away it will cause them to vomit it up. Looking all foamy & yukkie.

I would put her on a hypoallergic dog food such as the ones Natural Balance makes. I had to take all of mine off Royal Canin, I was running into all sorts of problems. Unfortunately with dog food issues, often they are okay initially for a period of time then things start to go wrong. It can be diahrrea, vomiting, skin issues etc. Most of the time, the food is not agreeing with them.

| Hmm...she ate Royal Canin for a year and then was on a different food for just a couple months. Can she still be disagreeing with the food even though she didn't have a problem before? She just ate a tiny tiny bit of rice and food mixed and drank water on her own. Hopefully she can keep that down, if not she is going to the vet, I don't know what else to do. She still doesnt want Nutrical and she usually loves it.

| So far she is keeping it down and she just took a little NutriCal. Maybe the acid stomach thing is it...

If the chicken and rice is working, I would leave her on that for a while to get her stabilized for a period of time. You could ask your vet about an easy to digest type of dog food such as a gastro or you could try the Dick Van Patten Natural balance hypoallergenic formulas but not until she is stable for a couple of days with the chicken and rice. If she has been vomiting, you can help balance the electrolytes with pedialyte but only about one cc every couple of hours as too much could get her vomiting again.

| Okay, thank you! I don't have any Pedialyte but I can pick some up from the store if this continues.
