Yes it is possible they can become sensitive to some foods as they get older. Did the Vet check her out her pancreas as inflammation of the pancreas can often be the problem if the food is not agreeing with them. And it can take a long time to get over it.
If the chicken and rice is working, I would leave her on that for a while to get her stabilized for a period of time. You could ask your vet about an easy to digest type of dog food such as a gastro or you could try the Dick Van Patten Natural balance hypoallergenic formulas but not until she is stable for a couple of days with the chicken and rice.
If she has been vomiting, you can help balance the electrolytes with pedialyte but only about one cc every couple of hours as too much could get her vomiting again.
