| Taking Mickey and Minnie to the vets / Please keep them in your prayers I'm taking them to the vet tomorrow. I'm just getting ready to post about it. and I want to thank Anna for reminding me it might be stones. I been watching him close. and most of the time hes his play full happy self. On 3/29/07 one of them had the poops bad, I woke up to a mess, but not knowing witch one and I kept and eye on them both , but neither one had the poop problem and more. On 3/30/07 Mickey started throwing up, what looked like dog food, Then I looked at Minnie and she was also throwing up but hers looked like blood. I was cleaning it all up and didnt think to save it. But I did dig some paper towels back out of the trash with what I thought to be blood and bagged it. but with in an hour they both seemed fine but I still thought it looked and smelled like blood, hubby said he bet it was the red jello the baby tossed off her tray and Minnie ate it, But It was to much to be that an dthat happened the day before. they both seemed fine. I had been feeding them both chicken, rice, hamburgar and cottagecheese sense the food recall. well I ran out and it was to late to cook some more up so I decided to give them some of their dry dog food, well with in 20 minutes of Mickey eating the dry. he looked like he had to poop but was constipated. and then peed in front of my couch. he never pees there. then he seemed fine, Minnie didnt eat any dry food and she still seems fine.I kept thinking it was the food , because of all the food recalls. well someone pointed out to me that it may be stones. 4/5/07 Hes not peeing much neither of them are. Their pee pads are clean. and I put them fresh ones down last night, so Id know how often they are going. nothing. but they do go out and do their business out side a few times a day too. Anna's post made me stop thinking more about the food recalls and more on the stones,so thank you for that. I guess it was just coincidence it all started about the same time as they ate their dry food. what I noticed today and yesterday. Mickey is not constipated but is straining to pee, He does not pee often, but when he does it looks more like hes trying to poop , hes straining. There's no blood in his urine. He dribbles pee for a few minutes then he goes. hes not drinking water much and he always drinks his water. peeing in unusual places, right in front of me in front of the couch, that's the only place I have seen him try to go, and he never goes there. Licking his privates a lot. whined onne while trying to pee and when he was done ran in the corner and was shaking. I took him out on the porch because I know he always trys to mark out side. I blocked the porch off keeping him on the porch where the light is so I could see him pee. He marked 3 times nothing two of the times ten dribbled the third. Then he went to the side of the porch and strained and peed a bunch. so it must be blockage. I read this website and I do think its in his Urethral http://www.executec.com/urolith.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bladder_stone_(animal) Hubby to knows now he must be checked and prob surgery. I don't know how they will do this because I'm broke, I do have a credit card.and will use it, but I know it will go over the amount, most vets here will not do any thing with out the money being down first. I know I had a doberman that died of a heart attack because the vets would not take her in . But I will be taking him in tomorrow and ill update you all when I can. So please keep him in your thoughts and prayers, Im so scared for him. Pray for Minnie too cause im taking her in too. __________________ |

| Praying for both of your babies!!! It does sound like stones...Make sure they do send the stone(s) to the lab so you can find out what kind of stone it is. Treatment for different types of stones are completely different from each other. My yorkie has ammonium urate stones because of his liver issues, but if we were given a food/medicine for struvite stones, he'd be in big trouble. They will probably want to do bloodwork too. Miko's body keeps producing these stones because of his liver problem so the vet did a PU surgery (not sure what the medical term is) so that he could pass the stones easily. Also, he had surgery to remove the bigger stones. Their urethras are soooo small that even the tiniest stone has trouble passing through them and very painful. Please keep us updated on what the vet says... Depending on where you live will depend on the price...Miko's regular vet is about 2hrs away and he charged about $500-$600 for the bladder stone removal. We keep going to him because he saved Miko's life and we trust him with Miko. We were also quoted a price in the city where we live and they said $1500. I wasn't about to go to a new vet that we know nothing about be charged $1000 more. Anway, positive thoughts are going your way!! Whatever it is, I pray that your babies are fine!!!

| Oh no, I'm so sorry Maybe you can arrange a payment plan with your vet, and just put down a large deposit. I would think a vet that truly cared about animals would want to work with you to make your baby better. Prayers going your way that little Mickey and Minnie will be healthy and 100% soon!!!

Wouldent you know Mickey and Minnie seem great today. One did get sick during the night. But are up and playing. I havent feed them , I want to wait untill after their appt. But Aint that how it always goes when you make a Dr appt time to go in and all seems better? lol Taking them in any ways. They said to bring them both in, so im so glad they will both be checked. I know they are both due for their Rabies in Sep, so well have to make that appt too. WEll I hope and pray its just a UTI .I have been documenting every time they get sick, poo and times Mickey had trouble peeing. Even took a picture of the bag with the bllod in it, good thing I had a picture because when I looked at the bag it had faded out. well any ways I will update you all when I get back, thanks for the Thoughts and prayers When I got both my Babies we was doing great and had lots of extra money to spend on them, but after I hurt my back at work every thing seem to go down hill. But Not to worry I do have creditcards and will do what ever I have to to make my baby's better. So keep up the thoughts and prayers, and I thank you all for them. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | GOOD LUCK !! I hate hearing they're both sick... but at least with the recall issues you know they'd be drinking exessive amounts of water so that's a big load off your mind....not to make light of what's happening ...but I do hope it's something minor and treatable and hope they start feeling better really soon. |
