Praying for both of your babies!!! It does sound like stones...Make sure they do send the stone(s) to the lab so you can find out what kind of stone it is. Treatment for different types of stones are completely different from each other. My yorkie has ammonium urate stones because of his liver issues, but if we were given a food/medicine for struvite stones, he'd be in big trouble.
They will probably want to do bloodwork too.
Miko's body keeps producing these stones because of his liver problem so the vet did a PU surgery (not sure what the medical term is) so that he could pass the stones easily. Also, he had surgery to remove the bigger stones. Their urethras are soooo small that even the tiniest stone has trouble passing through them and very painful. Please keep us updated on what the vet says...
Depending on where you live will depend on the price...Miko's regular vet is about 2hrs away and he charged about $500-$600 for the bladder stone removal. We keep going to him because he saved Miko's life and we trust him with Miko.
We were also quoted a price in the city where we live and they said $1500. I wasn't about to go to a new vet that we know nothing about be charged $1000 more.
Anway, positive thoughts are going your way!!
Whatever it is, I pray that your babies are fine!!!
