| Humidifier or steam from shower for pnemonia? Zoie's doctor said that steam from the shower is going to be good for her breathing. But I read on here that a humidifire is better because it's a cool mist air. which is better??????? We have been putting Zoie in the bathroom for 15 min incriments 3 times a day and the humidifier on all night for her.... She's not getting better!!! What else can we do? |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | while working at my last animal hospital we saw a lot of puppies with kennel cough and pnemonia. We always used a cool air humidifier. we had a rubber made container with a lid and two holes cut out of it. One on either side of the box. we took the humidifier hose and attached it to one end of the box and the other hole was left open for teh exiting air. the puppy was placed in the box with the lid on and the humidifer was attached and turned on for 15 minutes. we did this twice a day for the pup. edit: i can't remember if it was warm or cold air humidifier. and we also ran antibiotics with sterile water thru the humidifer (tho you can't do that at home)

| Cool mist humidifier for Pnemonia. Warm mist vaporizer for colds. Depends on if it's in your head or lungs.

| I'm so worried about Zoie. I'm hand feeding her wet food, otherwise she hasn't been eating anything at all, and using a syringe to giver her water. why isn't she getting better I'm going to take her back to the vet tomorrow morning. I really hope she's going to be ok. She has no energy to do anything. My poor chicken nugget |
