| Help! I'm panicking over sick Yorkie! This morning after several visits to the vet, the clinic kept Carson. He's refused food and water since Wed (Wed. is the first day I called the vet--they told me to watch him--I took him in the next day). He was vomiting a little bit on Wed. but was listless and not himself. On Thursday, he had a little watery stool but no fever. The vet found hookworms in his stool and sent me home with wormer and something to settle his stomach. I gave him the wormer and the medicine for his stomach, and he vomited. I waited until evening to give him the second dose of medicine for his stomach--he vomited again after 45 minutes. This time he continued to vomit and have dry heaves all night--also brown, watery diarrhea that smells He is now on IV's, antibiotics, and meds to stop vomiting. I saw a website advertising something called Parvaid that is an herbal remedy that supposed to help dogs--although we don't know for sure that it's parvo. Has anyone had experience with Parvo, Parvaid, or a dog that was sick like this one? Thanks for any help/encouragement you can give. |

| Update on Carson Carson is still at the vet today, but he's doing much better. The vet doesn't know for sure what it is--he could run a test for Parvo, but the treatment (IV, antibiotic) would be the same regardless of what it is. He has some of the symptoms except no blood in the diarrhea and no fever. Anyway, he was barking today and whining to come home with me so I feel much better about things this evening than I did yesterday morning! Thanks so much for your prayers and concerns. |

| Just saw this - I'm so sorry Carson had such a rough time but am glad he's feeling better. Sending prayers for a quick and complete recovery and for your little guy to get back to his old self.

| Poor little man. I'm so sorry he's been so sick, but hopefully he's on the mend now. It's generally a guessing game when they get sick. |

LUV my 3 Furrs & Alex Donating Member | I am really sorry I can't help but I do hope that he will get better soon as I know how it is to be away from your baby once he's in IV's and all. Will keep him and you in my prayers.

| Parvo? It sounds like it is, I had a Chiuaua once that had it even though we got the shot. I pray it is not though because some carona viruses have parvo type symptoms, it is common in the southeast.
