| help! - need collapsed trachea Dr. in Chicago My Sassy is 14 and suffering from what I think is a collapsed trachea. She's seen several Drs here to the tune of several thousand $$$ and they have diagnosed "chronic lung disease". I think they're wrong. I just found all the info online regarding CT and she has all the symptoms. I need to find a Dr. in Chicago w/experience with collapsed traceas fast. Please help me! I know she is old, perhaps too old for surgery, but I have to find out. Thank YOU!!!! |

| I think it would be odd for her to just suddenly have a collapsed trachea, if she never had trouble before. Maybe she is getting pnemonia w/her old age or a respitory infection w/this nasty weather . I wish I could help you. Prayers that the answers find you soon. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Where are you located in Chicago? When I had one with a severe CT I took her to Vetrinary Specialy Clinic in Riverwoods and also talked to the University of Illinois and Texas A % M University animal clinics.

| thank you Thanks for your responses. I just spoke with her cardio Dr. again and he assures me this is not the case. She is just an old pup with significant health problems which are making it difficult for her to breath. Thanks for your attempt to help - but I am afraid she has a host of problems that don't seem to be getting better and I may need to put her down very soon. Either today or tomorrow. My dear, sweet little Sassy. |

| I had a foster with this condition and found out that it can't really be cured. Be careful how much more money you are willing to put out there. In the long run it wont help. My prayers will go out to you and your baby. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | My last Yorkie had to be PTS at 6 1/2 from severe complications of a collspassed trachea. She went in to congestive heart failure and obstructive pulmonary disease. I tried for nearly a year to get her better with different meds and in the end she just couldn't breathe and I had to do the right thing for her. It is so hard to make the decision but there comes a time when you know it's time. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
