| ![]() When he goes back in to get his next shot, should I mention it to the vet about his episode today? I don't want Sparky to have to go through this again. He received his first set of shots from the breeder, so this is the first shot he's gotten since I got him. |

| ![]() I am so sorry Sparky is not feeling good. I would bring it up to the Vet. I feel that it is always good to remind them of something abnormal that happened, maybe they just break up the shots next time and give smaller doses? I will say a prayer that he is back to his energetic self soon!

| ![]() Welcome to YT and I'm glad to hear your baby is doing better. Yes, always let your vet know of anything like this and make sure he writes it down ![]() </IMG>

| ![]() After our little furbaby, Pookie, had her reaction to the shot, we made darn good and sure that the vet remembered to pre-treat her before her next set of shots. I told them when I made the appointment that she had a reaction the last time, and I called the day my hubby was taking her in and reminded the doctor again that she needed to be pre-treated. I talked to the vet also about splitting up the last set of shots so that she would not get her rabies at the same time. I did not want her to have a gigantic reaction from the rabies on top of the 5-in-one shot. So the vet agreed to do them seperately. I'm soooo glad we separated them because she just had her rabies shot and sure enough, even with the pre-treatment which made her feel fine the next day, the day after that, she threw up twice and was very very tired and slept almost all day. Make sure you tell your vet and insist that your puppy gets pre-treated as well as separating the rabies from the other shots. The pre-treatment worked great for the last set of 5-in-one shot. She never had any reaction at all to that one (her last in the series of three). |

| ![]() Sounds like he just needed some real food. Little one have to eat 6 to 8 tiny meals a day. Real food is best, because it's healthier and they will eat it better than dog food. |

| ![]() Just wanted to give everyone a heads up about my baby. He is 100 percent back to normal. Monday night he ate mostly rice, cottage cheese, chicken baby food. Monday night (or Tuesday morning 1 am - 5:30 am) he was up and down every little bit. I guess he was well rested after sleeping most of the afternoon. Tuesday he was running and giving Cindy, our 7 yeard old coon hound the dickens. They play so great together. Cindy baby's Sparky and lets him chew all over her and just mothers him. He has been great for her. So anyway, Sparky is back to eating, drinking and doing all he did before getting sick. I am so thankful! He has decided he does not want his Merrick's completely softened anymore. I was letting it sit in water for a few hours in the fridge, then adding a little chicken baby food, then nuking it for a few seconds and he would woof it down. Now he just wants the Merrick's moistened with a little warm water, stirred to make a little gravy and placed before his throne. He gobbles it up. I guess he's trying to tell me he's becoming a "big boy," at 11 1/2 weeks. I hope to get some pictures up this weekend (I'm new to loading digital pics onto the computer, just got my camera for Christmas). My son is coming home from college to watch the Super Bowl and is going to show me how. I want you all to see the baby you covered in prayer. Sorry I rambled, I'm just so thankful to you all. Love you guys! Will keep you posted! ![]() ![]() |
