| anyone have experience with a broken hip? tiggy is scheduled for xrays soon i was wondering if anyone have experience with a broken hip joint.... tiggy has been limping on her right hind leg and prelimary(using vets hand)shows tiggy is sensitve by the hip area. squelches and whines when the vet pulls the whole leg a little back..... i was also wondering how much who fixing that area cost in general? let's say a plate with 2 pins? i have VPI and i hope it can come a substantial amount thanks again for your help

| i'm not sure=( we've ruled out lyme disease, the test showed negative (tiggy had 3 ticks on her one month ago) but honestly ever since she was a baby, she would always walk kinda funny because she does not put weight on her right hind leg.....now she's limping.... i am so distraught.........any advice i would be so grateful

Is the Vet sure it isn't the knee either a slipping patella or cruciate ligament? http://www.westlakeanimalhospital.co...ture__can.html Either the knee problems or Legge-Perthes can manifest itself even once the dog is no longer a puppy. LP usually will cause a problem at about 5 -7 months but it can become a problem over a year of age. Any of these are correctible with surgery. LP is genetic. | |

| My sister's shepherd was hit by a car in her hip. The vet hosp charged $950 for 5 days and surgery to do a replacement with a titanium ball and rebuilt her socket. That was 3 yrs ago.
