| Extremely huge emergency Please help me! I need help as fast as possible. I had problems with my little yorkie puppy and posted many times that he wouldnt eat and was throwing up. I took him to Skokie Er today and the doctor did full blood work and it showed awful results. She said he is in kidney failure and it is genetic. It could be lepto or chronic renao failure, she said best option is putting him to sleep. Oh my God when I heard that I started crying, I cannot let go off of my baby. She said there is a tiny slight chance that he will live and after costly treatments he might not live, very very slight chance. I made the decision to keep him overnight on ivs and other necessary meds and see maybe there is a miracle and my baby will live because if he does not I dont know if I can live through this. Why are these awful breeders doing this, breeding brothers with sisters and giving away innocent sickly puppies and let them die. Oh My God I will sue them and the petland store no matter what so nobody else can ever go through what I am right know. Please help me if you know that these diseases are treatable and if I can save him, money does not matter. Please help me, I need help. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I feel sick for you and even sicker knowing you bought a puppy from Petland...I'm SO SORRY. I don't know what to say but you have my sincere sympathy. JUST so you know - Petland is the biggest buyer of Puppy Mill dogs - if you search the net you can read more about them....no one should have to go thru what you're going thru... Edited - So you don't have to search - This is just a sample of the websites about Petland and Mills...I know you're upset right now and rightly so - but this may help you IF you have to deal with that awful Pet Store....and I hope you don't need further contact because I hope she lives. But it doesn't sound good from what you just posted... I'm so so sorry about your little puppy. Puppymills are large breeding facilities were the breeding dogs are kept as live stock, locked in cages 24/ 7 with no medical care or love, just being breed everytime a female comes into heat. Mills often have several different breeds of dogs and has no care for the health of the dogs that they are breeding or the puppies. The millers harvest the puppies before they are old enough to leave their mothers and sell them to brokers like Hunte Corp. Hunte Corp purchases them for as little as $25 a puppy, so the millers have to produce as many as possible and keep cost down in order to make money. Hunte Corp then ships the puppies to their head quarters where the puppies get their 1st vet visit. After the visit they are loaded into large semi-trucks and shipped all over the United States ending up in pet stores like Petland. Petland is this countries biggest buyer of Puppy Mill dogs. There are no 'breeders' suppling Petland with dogs - Puppy Mills supply Petlands dogs and I wish they were BANNED from selling them

| Oh, what can I say, It doesn't sound good.. If he makes it he will probably be very sick his whole life. I know this isn't what you want to hear. I'm sorry and I will pray for him. Let this be a lesson for anyone else thinking about buying a puppy from a puppy store.. They buy poor quality puppies.. Yes the puppies are adorable, but most likely very sick.

| OMG - I feel horrible for you and what this little pup will go through. Did you get any kind of health guarantee from Petland when you bought him? If so, get on the phone with them first thing Tuesday morning and DEMAND repayment for vet bills and your money back for this very sick little pup. Unfortunately, I have nothing other to tell you regarding his condition. I will send prayers your way, but at least you can love him for whatever time you will have with him. The one thing I can tell you from other posts here, if he doesn't make it, please do an autopsy as that is the only "proof" you will have of his genetic illnesses - and Petland should also reimburse you for this. I wish you all the best and I will be praying for your little guy.

| Kami, I am so very sorry for your sorrow and pain. Only you can make the decision that is right for you. Perhaps, if you could just spend a few quiet minutes with your baby in your arms and pray -- the answer will come to you. Sending hugs |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I am so sorry! I will pray that he pulls through. If there is anything I can do please let me know. Also, maybe a 2nd opinion, my girlfriend had her ferret at 911 ER and they suggested she put him to sleep but she had them start treatment and then transferred to her regular vet who said the same thing but when she went to see him he seemed better so she took him home and he lived another year. So hopefully they can get him better.

No one is lecturing to her, they are just letting others know that this is a risk you take whn you buy from a pet store. Kami999. I feel so bad for you. It is horrible that these petstores do this. And that the breeders just produce puppies and don't care how they turn out. They don't ever have to deal with the consumer so they just don't care. My guess is the best you can do is to get your money back from those people. | |
