I'm so sorry for your puppy and for you. Prayers going up for both of you. |
I had very good luck with Animal Emergency in Grayslake. They pulled Cali through many illnesses. The owner is the Board certified Surgeon, they have a board certified internest and the latest equipment. They also do liver shunt testing and surgery. It is on teh corner of Route 45 and Route 120. If you decide to go I will pm you my phone number and I can give you directions, very easy to find from the 294 tollway. I can also meet you there if you need me to. |
Thank you, if my little guy feels better right away I will try the grayslake clinic. Do you know if they let you stay at the emergency hospitals and wait there to see how the pup is doing? |
Yes they let you wait in the waiting area and they let you go back and visit them. They were so good with Cali, when I told them I was worried because she was without me the vet said the staff were all taking turns holding her and spoiling her. |
Patti did you stay at the emergency hospital with Cali? Im thinking of going there and being there to support my baby. |
I am so sorry you are going thru this :( I don't know if anything I write will help but I do think you should do what you think is best for your baby. I know it is hard but try to put him first. Quality of life is important. It wil help you very much in the long run if you know that whatever you decided to do was in his best interest. I just think it is horrible that these stores and breeders ( my Abby came from a breeder and also has a hereditary disease) are selling sick pups. How do they get away with it????? Please remember to think of what is best for your pup and your decision should be a little easier to make. |
They have set hours to go in back and visit but you could stay up front and go back during visiting hours. I did stay during some of her testing but when she had her major surgery I didn't go visit because I didn't want to get her excited and then have to leave her again. I felt very confident in the staff there. |
Hugs and kisses and prayers going out to your little furbaby. I am so sorry you are going through this.  :getwellso :getwellso |
Prayers All Is Going Well Kami, I as many others will be watching and praying for good news when we get an update on your little one. I shall leave the computer on and watch to hear back how he is doing, I have read of so many that had a miracle take place and we have witnessed the power of prayer through many of the folks here at Yorkie Talk. (((((((((hug))))))))) to you. Were you able to get in touch with Patti? Sounds like she lives fairly close to you. |
I'm so sorry for what's happening to your baby... Nobody should ever have to go through this and those little babies... It's heartbreaking as I keep hearing such stories. I didn't even know Petland sells live dogs, the few ones I go to have only pet food and accessories. Another store to cross out from my shopping list :( . I'm praying for your little baby, hope she'll pull through... |
I called the hospital to check how he is doing but they said he is about the same still not doing any better and that it is still to early to see an improvement. I am praying that it is dehydration not kidney disease like the vet sai as I read it can be mistaken for kidney disease as it shows high bun like in kidney disease. I am continuing to pray for my baby boy. |
You and your baby are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope he improves and it is dehydration. |
I was checking Cali's medical records because I thought I remembered that she had an elevated BUN test when she was in once. It shows that I had her in for vomiting and diarrhea and she had a mildly elevated BUN. The test showed normal as 10-20 and hers was 29. 2 days later it was 22. Do you know how high your babies was? |
Saved This Information This is a site that I have bookmarked and so thought I would post it, I found it to be very informative. Lots of information on blood tests and just about everything. Patti & Jack and Baby Blessing Prayers that your puppy will be fine. http://www.juliespuppies.com/doghealth.htm |
http://www.juliespuppies.com/doghealth.htm[/QUOTE] I tried to edit my post to add this to it but wasn't able to so will post again. I went back and reread on the elevated Bun blood level and it did state that in puppies it can be caused from dehydration. Jack and I have found this site to really been a help to us at times.
