Miko is hanging in there. Today was the first time he drank water out of the bowl by himself and it almost made me cry when I heard that. Prayer is the best thing for him right now, I am only concerned if I will be able to afford this long 24 hour care for my baby but I will do anything to be able to. thank you for prayers and support.

I'm glad to hear he's doing better. This little guy is definitly a fighter, and is really tough too! I hope he continues improving

Kami, I'm glad to hear Miko is better. I was thinking it might be better to give the name of the vet and phone number so if anyone wanted to donate money it could go directly to your bill. You can tell your vets office what you are doing, I'm sure they don't care where the money comes from. I think it might be hard to ask people to send money to a trust as I think this is kind of your first post and you don't have a history here. You might have better luck if they can work with the vets office directly. And I would think your close family members and dear friends would be most helpful in supporting Miko's recovery. Good luck to you both.

My close friends and family are, they have been extemely helpful without them Miko wouldnt be able to even fight for his life. I dont have a problem with sending money directly to the clinic, but first of all they have different departments that have to get paid seperately and than I cant have all of these people calling the hospital and asking for Miko because they might get angry at me for doing this.

But he is residing at the Veterinary Specialty Center in Buffalo Grove, IL on Busch Pkwy so if anyone is truly interested in helping Miko finding out the phone number wont be hard. Once again thank you everyone for praying for my Miko, and lighting a candle, I did that also that is very helpful, I cant wait to tell you all that Miko is back home and on his road to further recovery.

I just asked some other person once again if they accept care credit and it turns out that they do that is great news at least that will help. When I asked the first time some receptionist told me they dont I guess she had to be new or something.

Kami, In all fairness, you came on YT as your first post asking for $$ donations to help your pup. However, several people have made reccomendations such as the website to apply for financial help and allowing people to send payment for Miko directly to the vet yet you have over and over again avoided providing the Vet's info. I don't think it should be up to donating YT's to look up a telephone number etc. You had time to make a web page asking for donations, a very nice web page that I'm sure took quite a bit of time yet you seem to be avoiding the question "Who is the vet and where can donations be sent direct." Also, I could be wrong but I've never heard of separate departments in a Vet's hospital receiving separate payments. Again, no offense but as the wife of a NYC Police Detective I'm very very skeptical with all of this since once again you will not give out the Vet's info. Again, I think if you posted that info. you would be more successful in getting financial help for Miko. Did you go to the web site that one of the YT's posted regarding the application for financial help? This site states that they investigate your claim and if they find it valid they will help you with the $$ needed to get Miko well. It's been posted more than a few times on here. I happened to go and browse it seems like it could help you out. Of course they too would want vet reports before giving you any money for vet bills and they too send payment directly to the vet. I think this is a pretty fair request asking for vet info. to have payment sent direct and I can't figure out what the problem would be in providing this if it is in fact legite. Elaine.

First of all I didnt join the YT just to get donations, I joined to get help. I joined when my pup was still home and started not eating. I did check the links to websites that people have posted and I contacted all of them, and all of their replies were they dont have funds available right now. Nobody has asked me for the vet's info people there were only suggestions that it might be a good idea. And there are different departments in the Specialty Center it is composed of different departments and I have many bills from each of the departments. There are also many doctors but the main doctor kidney specialist there is Dr. Jerry Thornhill, but the emergency is composed of about 8 doctors or so and I speak with a different doctor everyday. I provided the name of the clinic: Veterinary Specialty Center 1515 Busch Pkwy Buffalo Grove, IL 60089 tel. 847-459-7535 if you dont believe it go ahead and call yourself he has been there since monday and almost everyone in the emergency department knows him and truly cares for him. Just so you know here are the departments:
Surgical Referral Service
Veterinary Medical Referral Service
Midwest Veterinary Dermatology Center
Imaging Center for animals
TheraPET Wellness Center
Emergency and critical care

Since I just found out today that they do accept care credit therefore I should manage with monthly payments, it will be hard but it is well worth it. Im so disappointed you would even think I would be making this whole thing up.

i'm sorry her post upset you... i can understand that it would..but sometimes people take advantage of good people so i'm sure she just wanted to make sure.... but don't focus on it... we believe you because of the pain we hear in your posts... don't let her doubt take up your energy.. you need it to take care of your little man who i know will be home with his mommy soon!!! please keep us posted on how he is doing

Kammi. I never said or suggested that you were making anything up. I simply said that in today's world there are so many scams that people are afraid of being taken. For that reason I and a few others suggested posting where donations could be sent directly to the vet. I said this because you like myself are very new to Yorkie talk and are not established here. I think if the roles were reversed you would feel the same. There was no offense intended in what I wrote. Just suggestions. Again, I'm sorry if you took it the wrong way, but really we all have to be careful now a days of scams. Unfortuanetly this is the world we live in and to think otherwise is to be nieve. I really hope Miko gets better quick and that you can recoup some of your $$ from Petland. Please check to see if their is a Lemon Law in your state pertaining to sick pups sold. If there is you can bring them to small claims and recoup prob. up to the cost of your pup. You can google it or if you'd like I'm a paralegal and would be glad to look it up for you. Elaine

Did you try the IMOM site ?? it takes them a few days if not longer to write back

hi everybody i was just checking for the updates on Miko, and i can also understand why everyone wants to be careful now a days because of the people who take advantage of others. I just wanted to tell everyone that i emailed Kami myself and found out what i needed to know and i donated because i believe her. I can understand why she wouldnt give vets phone number out on this website because then many people would start calling the clinic to find out more about Miko, and that could be many phone calls per day from different people asking questions, so i asked that i really wanted to help and if she could privately somehow verify that her statement is truthful and she did, and its all TRUTH, and i will be praying for Miko no matter what people say.

I am so glad to hear that Miko is doing a little better each day and that care credit will make it somewhat easier to not worry about what his care is costing.

I don't usually get involved with various debates on YT, but feel the need to say that if it is naive in today's world to trust others when they have been forthcoming and obviously distressed - then that is a world I don't wish to be a part of. Yes, there are lots of scams out there - but I believe I am a very good judge of character (as well as intuitition) and will offer whatever asssitance I can when I feel compelled to do so. I do this of my own free will and not to be given thanks or anything else in return. I consider this "paying it forward" and part of my karma yoga practice. If I ever need a helping hand, I hope others would feel the same.

Keep fighting little Miko, and take care of yourself as well Kami. Hugs and prayers.....

I wont take it personally because I need the strenght to fight for my baby. Its so nice to see there are people in this forum that believe in me and thank you for that so much. For those who dont, I can understand but the least you could do if you dont believe is ask questions instead of right away assume the worst. It doesnt matter that is not important right now.
