I agree with you.. our Golden Charlie was a brother sister breeding who had so many genetic problems-- he passed at 5 years old this November. He was a petstore-Petland breeding. My husband crys everyday..its not the innocent puppys fault.

| ![]() Kammi. I researched some information for you that may help you out or atleast point you in the right direction on how to take action against Petland. Here is a website called "Prisoner's of Greed." This is an anti-puppymill website. I'm not sure what Petland in Illinois Miko came from but I've posted direct from this website regarding Petland in Illinois (See below) "Illinois Review Persons who have purchased a sick puppy from the Petland in Rockford, Illinois are asked to file a report for potential class action lawsuit. Email your information here." Here is there website perhaps they can help you out with how to file a suit against petland. http://www.prisonersofgreed.org/pet-store-lawsuits.html I am conintuing to research to see if there is any other action that can be taken to help you regain atleast the $$ amount spent on purchasing Miko. Like I said I live in NJ and I know that NJ has a puppylemon law that states that the store/breeder has to pay all medical bills up to the price of the pup if your vet signs a not fit for sale. Hope this helps. Elaine. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() and you're so right - it IS the puppies that really suffer & people are left with broken hearts......If it didn't happen so often with Petland puppies I wouldn't say so much about them - but they are the biggest contributor to puppy mills (Along with Hunte Corp)- if they were regulated more then maybe the awful mass breeding would slow down - I'm so sorry about your Charlie. You have my condolences for both you and your husband. | |

| ![]() Kammi. Here is another site pertaining to Petshop puppies and lemon laws. I sent you the link for Illinois. You'll also find a link to file a complaint. http://www.petshoppuppies.com/Lemon_Laws/Illinois.htm Here is another site: It's called Animal Legal and Historic Center. The link I sent is directly related to Illinois. Illinois Animal Welfare Act (Includes Puppy Sale Provisions) http://www.animallaw.info/statutes/s...5_605_1_22.htm Another Link again to the Legal and Historic Center - this will link you to "I bought a sick puppy from a Pet Store." http://www.animallaw.info/articles/ovuspetsales.htm I am yet to find an exact law in Illinois pertaining to buying a sick puppy. I find it such a shame that states such as yours and Ohio (Pertaining to Lacy another sick puppy perchased recently from a pet store and who had to be put down a few days ago) do not have Lemon Laws with regard to sick pups. The absent of these laws allow stores to continually not only screw over the buyer but it also allows the store to inhumanely neglect the pup being sold. The best think you can do for Miko Kammi is to when this is all over join groups such as Prisoner's for Greed or Puppymill Rescue.com and help the fight in closing down the Puppymills. Petstores (and I don't care who disagrees with me) buy their pups from Puppymills. Puppymills breed quanity not quality and not only do the pups suffer but the parents suffer even more. If I find anymore sites Kammi, I'll post them for you. Elaine. |
