| My husband took Lady to the er vet last night about 1am, didn't get home til about 4am. Lady had some leakage, that was normal but after a while she was bleeding from the stitches. It wouldn't stop and it wasn't a whole lot but it wouldn't stop. I was going to try to put some super glue on it but thot I better talk to the vet first. She said to come in. Lady still wasn't eating or moving around at all. Everything that went into her I had to force. The vet said that it was all just leakage but I'm still not sure about that because it was red, red, red. Not pink like the leakage. They put a wrap around her belly and wanted to keep her but I was uncomfortable with that. I wanted her near me to keep an eye on. I asked for pain meds and something for her nausea. The dry heaves were what caused the stitches to pull open. As soon as I could get something into her I could feel her belly growling so her body was absorbing it as fast as I could get it into her. There was nothing left to vomit. I'm feeling some hope for her now cause she got up tonight and walked into the kitchen to get some water. She has water in the pen with her but she wants the water in the kitchen. My son made her some food with water and she lapped up some of the water off the food. I couldn't tell but I hope she took a bite or two also. We have medicated her and the pain pills make her sleep so she's sleeping right now. |

| I took the wrap off of her yesterday and she's doing a lot better. Last night she was leaking again but it's clear. In fact I can't tell if it's from her stitches or urine leakage. We are calling the vet today and seeing if he will see her today. I do not hate my vet but I'm very upset with him and will be looking for another. Problem is there are none close to us. Ahhh, well, it is what it is. Lady has been looking in on the babies but not trying to reach them. I weighed them today and she came over to watch. I held the one in my hands to her and she didn't act like she knew him. Well, he wasn't hers so I held one of hers to her and she still didn't act like she knew him. I'm sure she knows she should have babies but I guess her babies smell like Amber now. I let Amber out of the pen and left it open. I didn't see Lady go in and Amber didn't act like there was anyone looking at the babies. All of the dogs like to go in and check on the babies. This is Amber's first litter so she was very possessive but she seems to be getting over it. Sylvia |
