				   | Poor Gidget, I hope she can make it through this...we are all praying for her...It breaks my heart to read this because I know what these babies go through when they weigh this little and go through hypoglycemia. |

				   | I appreciate all of the thoughtful wishes for Gidget. I hope she can pull through this, but I just don't know. She is so weak and tiny. I feel frustrated with the vets because they say there is nothing else to be done except keep feeding her frequently. It seems like they should be able to do more for her. My heart is full of sadness when I look at her sad little eyes.

				   | It is normal for her to sleep alot. She is a tiny puppy and she needs all the sleep she can get! Just continue to feed her something, anything, every couple of hours. Give her some Pedialyte through a syringe, too. Make sure she stays warm and gets enough rest. If you do all these things, she should be fine. A way to tell if her bloodsugar is low.......when she is napping, make a loud sound...call her name, slam a book or door....make any kind of loud noise....if he doesn't perk up, then she has low bloodsugar. If she perks up really fast and seems startled by the loud noise, then her bloodsugar should be fine. But she needs her rest so don't be too concerned if she sleeps a lot. Just wake her up ever 2 hours or so to give her some food and some Pedialyte. |

				   | I'd consider a new vet. Seriously. A lot of vets have NO clue about tiny dogs. I went to breeders.net and searched for Yorkie breeders in my area, then called the only one listed near me. She was so nice and gave me a recommendation for a wonderful vet and we LOVE him! He has owned Yorkies so he knows how quickly they can go down and when I grilled him about stuff, he gave me all the answers that I knew to be correct. Keep feeding her like every 2 hours minimum. Around the clock! Keep her warm and don't let her play hard at all until she's much better for a few days, then slowly let her increase her play time. She cannot be burning any calories right now that she can't afford If you have to force feed her, then do it. As long as she's not vomiting, you are not feeding her too much.Prayers continuing here for your little darling

				   | Ahhhhhh your poor baby. SO fragile and she shouldnt have been released yet. .........But she has been. You have almost a newborn baby. She needs bundled. No drafts at all, blankets and lots of love. a Heating pad on lowest setting under a few blankets to aid in warm when u arent with her. I would buy puppy supplement. Preferably FIRSTBORN milk replacement, buy mightydog or lil cesars canned dog food. Put the canned food a tsp or two on a saucer. Mix the supplement milk with the water as directed and pour a bit over the food and talk to her and help her eat. put your finger in the food and put it against her lips. Cover her if you have too. A warm puppy eats better. Then make sure she gets water. If she wont drink it on her own, help her. Syringe feed her.......do you know how? Feed her religously every 3-4 hours thru out the day and night if she doesnt improve in a few days, something else is wrong. Sending you all big hugs, you can do it! |

				   | She is not vomiting at all, but she has gotten diarrhea. I don't know if that is because she is being fed different types of food or because she is getting sicker. Is there anything you all suggest to help stop the diarrhea? I think I will check into another vet. Again thank you all for you support. This is not an easy time. I just want her to get better.

				   | I would lay off the sugar right now and try for regular feedings of real food and give her water. If she wont take it see a vet immediately. |

Canned pumpkin and plain FAT (not nonfat) yogurt are both good for diarrhea. She is probably having diarrhea from being fed different types of foods. | |

				   | Gidge ate a good breakfast this morning, but still no energy at all. She eats then lays right back down. You all have been so comforting and helpful these last few days. I thank you very much for all of the support.

				   | I did weigh her again this morning also and still only 1/2 lb. I don't know why she is not gaining weight. We are feeding her so frequently and she doesn't do anything to burn any calories.
