New Member, question on surgeon in Maryland Hello, This is my first time posting, so forgive me if I am posting in the wrong place. My 11 month old Yorkie(Molly) was diagnosed with luxating patella. Our vet referred us to a few different surgeons. The surgeon that could get us in the fastest and had a much lower price was Maryland Veterinary Surgical. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with this Vet. We are about an hour away so I do not know anyone who has used them. Thanks for any help anyone can give. Shelby

Thanks for the replys. I have been doing a lot of reseach since our vet said she would most likely need surgery. From what I am reading she has between a grade 2 and grade 3 luxating patella. Her knee is popping out about 4 or 5 times an hour and we have to manually put it back in. Is this severe enough to have surgery? I thought that this was really bad, but from what I am reading surgery may not be needed at this point. Any help would be appreciated. I am confused at this point. Shelby P.S.-We go to the surgeon on Wed. the 23rd. The surgeon said he would do the operation that day if it is necessary.

Maggie has grade 2 LP on her left knee but nothing pops out and the vet says no surgery necessary. But I think it would be more comfortable for Molly if she had the surgery with her knee popping out all the time. Good Luck! We will keep you and your precious fur baby in our prayers! Please keep us updated!
