I am glad you are getting him to a vet tomorrow. Cali was very ill as a puppy with stomach issues, hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) and her Bile acid test, the one they do to determine if there may be a liver shunt, was abnormal. But after tests she was diagnosed with a Mild liver shunt and the vet didn't think her prior illnesses were due to the liver shunt and felt it was very minor liver shunt which needed no medicine or surgery. I just keep her on a lower protein diet. I wil say a prayer that Franco is ok.

Hi, Just for inform that the doctor cancel Franco's appointment. I need to go tomorrow in the morning. They will make ammonia test and bile acid test. I will inform everybody tomorrow. I'm sure that with all the prays my baby will be ok.

Did the vet tell you to not give him any food (water is fine) for 12 hours before the bile acid test? Usually, they test after fasting and then feed a high fat canned food and retest to compare. These two tests should let you know if there is a problem with his liver.

¿Le dijo el veterinario para no darle ningún alimento (agua es fina) para 12 horas antes de la prueba del ácido de bilis? Generalmente, ellos prueban después que ayuno y entonces alimentan una grasa alta pudo alimento y reexamina comparar. Estas dos pruebas deben permitir que usted sepa si hay un problema con su hígado.

Keeping Franco in my prayers I hope his tests comes out good, as far as the fasting Gucci had no water or food from midnight the night before... If you need to know anything please pm me, I will try to answer any questions you may have. Gucci had liver shunt operation in August. She is doing wonderful so please don't worry, even if they find out Franco has it. which I hope he doesn't ...Gina

Vet make all test to Franco, I need to wait until thursday for the answers. They make a blood test and "albumina" (I dont know the word on english) is on 2.3. Is low but not to low because normal is 2.9. My vet said that Franco's health is OK, and I don't need to worry. Franco only weight 2.1 lb and is 9 month old. Vet told me that Franco is ok in blood test. Don't look like have livershunt. Anyway, he make all the test. They send a diet, Hills A/D Prescription. Because he dont like to eat
