| Puppy Acne About a month ago I notice several bumps (scabs) on Sydney's neck and under her chin. My grooming thought it was allergies but I then decided to take her to the vet. I was surprise to find out that puppies actually get Puppy Acne. The vet gave me a antibiotic and shampoo to use on her for 3 weeks. The name of the shampoo is ChlorhexiDerm. Great stuff. It cleared it up with one bath. Hope this information helps everyone. Have a Great Day! |

| Oscar had that too at one point! I'm glad someone else mentioned it on here - I mentioned it once and I think people really didn't believe me. My vet also didn't prescribe anything for it - and it cleared up fine on its own.

| My vet carries it. It's a product by DVM Pharmaceuticals. Trying calling around and see if any other vets carry it. Sydney's acne started out with only two scabs but got worse. She had numerous scabs on her neck and near the folds on her ears. I was surprise how quickly the shampoo worked. This was the first bath that I think she enjoyed. I put her in the shower and sat down with her on my lap.......scrubbing those places with my finger nails has he told me to do. It's a Antiseptic, cleansing shampoo for dogs, cats and horses. I've got a great vet. He said that this was common in puppies. I had never heard of it. Hope this information helps. |
