Ohhhhhhhh definitely a puppy mill. No one can take proper care of that many dogs. |
Nightshace. I am so sorry for what you went through. Everytime someone goes through something like this we all learn from the experience. I hope you are able to get a nice healthy baby. It sounds like you have such a good heart, you deserve to have one healthy happy baby. |
I am very sorry that you lost your little yorkie!! It pains me to know what you both went through!! Please accept my deepest sympathies!! :littleang |
hi everyone i got her report back this evening..she had an underdeveloped liver.. stomach ulcers. and the parasite my vet wouldnt do the autopsy on her since both i and the breeeder use him..he sent me to someone else..in case a court situation i guess. the vet told me all her problems then he explained it like ( this is the faault of breeders and buyers) for trying to produce smaller pups..he said the smaller the pup the more it costs.. but noone considers the pups.. there underdevolped because there organs dont get to be large enough to support just what they need to survive.. and all this tube feeding and sugar replacements and shunts etc.. are on there heads.. the last 4 hours of hell this puppy went threw is for the arrogance of people being able to carry a dog in there pocket.. that she should never have been born to endure this in the first place.. now i feel like major crap |
I read through all of your posts. I'm so sorry you had to go through this. Don't blame yourself, because you didn't know. We all seem to have to learn things the hard way.:( |

its been a learning experince to say the least...i had never considered the dangers for the pups for being so small. i couldnt even get angry with the vet for being so blunt.. you could see he was frustrated and unnerved by what she went threw.. shows he is a good compasionate vet. just wished i understood before what i know now..i will not do that again.. he said 4 to 5lbs is what they need to be to be fully healthy on there own.. i know now i will if i decide to in the future get me a larger baby they are just as beautiful |
NIghtShade - My vet is the same way. She looked at my "big" little Yorkie pup and said, "You don't know how good it is to see one of these little guys that's a decent size." Then she went on (almost in a tirade) telling me all the problems that so many tiny Yorkies have. And, she said "people will deny this and swear the little ones can be healthy too - and granted some are - but so many aren't. I'm a vet - I'm the one who sees all the problems and all the heartbreak." She said, "It's criminal!" I took Murphy in this morning to get neutered. He is 8 or 9 pounds (a year old) - and she said, "Murphy - You're going to be my Yorkie poster boy!" I don't have to worry about him running around the house - playing with any other dog or cat. I don't worry about him playing with children or climbing off and on furniture. He is playful, happy, loveable, and affectionate. He has an "iron stomach," can eat anything, and has never had a sick day in his life. When I got Murphy - I wanted a "tiny, little dog," like a lot of you do, but as he has grown and developed - I honestly couldn't be more pleased with his size. After all, a 8 or 9 pound dog is still a "very little dog." PS: He came through being neutered with "flying colors." I'm going to bring him home in an hour or two. Can't wait to get him back. ***** I'm just adding this because it's interesting. Murphy's mother weighs 12 pounds and his father weighs 4 1/2 pounds (on a good day). One of his brothers weighs 5 pounds and another weighs 6 pounds at a year old (same litter) --- and along comes Murphy, at 8 or 9 pounds. Go figure! Carol Jean |
