Gizmo's playing again! Sorry I didn't reply yesterday, but my internet wasn't working. Gizmo is doing much better. He is chasing my feet again, and he's drinking, which is a big relief. Now he's spoiled and won't eat anything but chicken! I have been trying to trick him into eating his puppy food by mixing the chicken into it, but mostly he just picks it out. He's a smart little bugger. There's still one problem. I woke up this morning and there was diareah all over his pen. He seems to be fine. He's playing, but I thought that the medicine I'm giving him was supposed to stop the diareah. Do you think it's because he's really only been eating chicken? I tried to give him some rice, but I got scared when it stuck to the roof of his mouth. I don't want him to choke on it. Anyway, thank you all for your help and your prayers. Val

I forgot, I looked for pedialyte and nutrical on base, but they didn't have any. I am going to look out in town today, but in case they don't, I did see dog vitamins. I don't know if it's a good idea, since he's a puppy, but I am concerned he's not getting enough variety of nutrients. What do you think? Val

Before you start feeding him just human food, I would get some canned food and try mixing it with his hard food and see if he'll eat that.

He can't eat hard food yet, so I have been giving him canned Science Diet puppy chow. I mixed it with some chicken this morning to try and get him to eat it, but he just picked the chicken out of it. He would eat it before he got sick, but now I just want to make sure he's eating something. Val

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Cali is still eating chicken but the last 2 weeks I have her on 1/2 chicken and 1/2 dog food. Right now you just need him to eat until he gets stronger so give him whatever he will eat, you can worry about unspoiling him when he's better. Glas he is feeling better.
