| Dezi is Sick  I was up all night with her. She sounds congested and once in a while gags like if something is stuck in her throat. She sounds like a baby when a baby has a cold. Anything you guys suggest I do while I wait to take her to the vet at 5:30 (earliest appt they have)? She is eating normal and playing, not drinking too much water. |

| I dont think there is much else you can do. Maybe give a little nutrical and pedialyte if shes not drinking. She is eating and that is good.

| I would give her some Pedialyte if she isn't drinking. Other than that, keep a close eye on her till you can get her in and if anything changes, I would call and say I'm bringing her in now. Hope is it nothing serious.

| You've gotten great advice. I just wanted to say I hope she feels better soon. There's nothing sadder than a sick baby or a sick doggie!

| Dezi has a cold and reverse sneezing. She will be on antibiotics for seven days. I feel a lot better, I was really concerned about collapse trachea. My sister's yorkie has collapse trachea and she is on medication and we have to avoid getting her excited because she gets really bad. Thank you all for your support. | Can they get over a cold on there own? or do they always need an antibiotic. My 7 1/2 mth old was neutered last Friday and he is congested and has a lot of reverse sneezing, especially when excited. He has improved a lot but still has the congestion especially when he first wakes up. Should I make an apt and take him to the vet now or could I wait until Friday when he has an apt to get his stitches out? He is eating good and very playful, sleeping well. Am I causing him any harm by waiting? Can I give him an OTC decongestant to help? |
