				 | UPDATE --- Samson Doing Better First of all I want to thank EVERYONE, and please understand that WE LOVE and care for OUR SAMSON!! But when you have severe heart failure you can not just pickup all this equipment and run that far, when we knew our Vet would call sometime. Samson is now doing better, Vet said to give Benadryl (along with others) the Benadryl seems to be helping, gaining some attention and not so unsteady when trying to stand. Thank you for the heads up on a possible sting or bite. Vet said if not better in the next 30 minutes, that was 20 minutes ago, he would rush over to take him. As all of you know, your PET becomes your family and Samson is no different, so please PLEASE don't think ill for us for not running, we just can't at a drop of the hat. Samson is like a son and either of us would just die with him if something happens. We have lived and learned everything you can imagine with this breed the hard way, and tonight is just another page in the book of his life. God Bless and thank you all, will update later as to his status. John, Lisa & Samson La Plata, MO P.S. How can I get his Picture under his name, I uploaded a photo but it does not show. Thanks Last edited by Samon; 08-06-2006 at 07:12 PM. |

				 | What color are his gums? If they are not a healthy pink, it could still be low blood sugar. With one that small, definitely pick up some Nutristat, Nutrical or the longer lasting, faster acting Nutridrops. |

				 | Welcome to YT.I think most of us here can relate to what you are saying about Sampson being like your son. I lost Shadow,a yorkie also last March and I felt as if I would die days following. I'm glad Sampson is doing better. Keep us posted. I bet it was a bee sting. |

				 | Glad to hear that Samson is doing better. We know what you mean about your baby being so special to you. I don't know what I do without my little girl. She has already helped me through some heartache. I just love her to pieces - never would have imagined feeling this way about a dog/pet (have had several that didn't even compare to my feelings for her). Sorry to also hear that you yourselves are not that well. Definitely keep yourselves going also. When you get a chance, make sure you have all the supplies on hand you might need in case of an emergency with your little guy. Glad to also know your vet called you back as well.

				 | Forgot to add about the photo under your name. Go to User CP, Avatar. This is where you need to upload the photo to appear under your name. What you loaded when on your profile. Samson is a cutie - so please put him on your avatar and share him with everyone!!

				 | I know that I am new here but it is too bad that we can't get a vet to join and offer advice although I am sure that there is some liability thing that would interfer.....however..we too live way way in the boonies and our vet has taught us how to make an educated guess on what to do..she taught us doggie cpr ...we keep a bottle of epi....making sure to keep check of the exeration date...along with the dosing instructions clearly typed out and wrapped around the bottle with a rubber band....dye free benadrly...an unopened bottle of pedialyte and a can of pediasure....and she taught us how to inject fluids under the skin ..just in case....as far away as we live....especially in the winter ..sometimes we are left for a short time to our own devices....... |

				 | Samson - Last Update Well just to let the ones that care know, Samson was in sugar shock along with the sting and a thyroid problem along with everything else. He will now be on medication for life says the Vet. It was hard to understand how he got so low on sugar without seeing the change and him dropping! He is now doing so much better and gaining some strength back, he will soon be home and jumping as before. I want to thank everyone, and tell the " RUDE " people that sometimes a human life is as important as your family member pet. If he is ever sick again, I just want you all to know that I will not be back, for I could not believe some of the statements. God Bless you all, and hope you all have a great life. Keep that Yorkie close and WATCH THEM EVEN CLOSER. John |

Don't be upset. People didn't know your circumstances and just posted what they would have done. Don't hold it against anyone. You did what you could for your family and for Sampson. Stay around...you'll be glad you did.
