| Try switching your Food Hi guys, I've posted a similar response before but to make things short, Jazzie fought Hot Spots from allergies for the first 6 of 8 years. She kept on getting cortizone based meds and I wanted to stop all the steroids so I found a website that made a lot of sense but it was really hard to read and follow so I started a thread in a easy to read formula. Ok, bottom line, I switched her food to Natural Balance Potato & Duck. Stopped giving her stuff with wheat, corn, soy etc. If you want more info go to http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43979 Good luck!

| benadryl I have heard it's safe to give benadryl but not sure how much. Our Lil Girl weighs 11 lbs(yes, she really is a Yorkie, LOL) Anyone know what dosage I could safely give her? We had her flea bathed today at the groomer's but she still seems miserable, and she has had allergic reactions to flea products in the past! |

| I had to give Trixie 2CC of Children's Benedryl each day. She hated it so much, she started foaming. Our new vet told us to get the benedryl pills (I think it's the regular 25MG), and cut it up in as small of pieces as we can get it in. Oh and Trixie is 6lbs.

prescribed 1/8 - 1/4 of a children's Benedryl tablet (grape or cherry flavored) every 8 - 12 hrs. I just put it inside a tiny bit of cheese. It really does help her. It does make her a little sleepy. Hope this helps. Kate

Maggie weighs 10 pounds and we'd give her 1/2 a Benadryl pill before bed. It would help the scratching and also make her very sleepy!! | |
