I completely agree!!!!!!! My Hootie was having bad diarrhea. I tried giving her plain yogurt, but that didn't help much. I took her to the vet, they tested her stool, and found she had Coccidia. It is just a parasite that she picked up in the yard. They gave her Albon and she was better (no diarrhea) the next day. Works like a charm. Like you, Hootie was showing no signs that she was sick other then having diarrhea...she was eating well, playing, etc. You need to take her to have her first check-up anyway, so go ahead and take her in and get them to check her stool for parasites. I am sure it can be cleared up in no time. | |

| Please take your puppy to the vet. I had the same problem with my 7 week old. He actually could not stand up. I had to call a 24 hr emergecy vet. I found out he has coccidia, which is an intestinal parasite. He refused to eat or drink and went into hypoglycemic shock. He is still not doing well, I watch him constantly. Hopefully the medicine the vet gave him will start working. I wish I would have taken him sooner. Pat |

| Thank you Thank you to everyone that responded to my questions! This website is so great and everyone's advice has been very helpful! Here's the update on Bentley. I took him to the vet and had him checked out. Everything turned out ok. He is a healthy boy!!!! There were no parasites found and the vet thinks that it was the stress of me going back to work that gave him diarrhea. I was home with him for the first 2 weeks, 24/7 and she thought that the transition of me going back to work was hard on him. He has adjusted though and things are going well. Again, thank you to those that responded.
