Just an biasis observation: i volunteer at a dog rescue group: and we get a lot of small females pregant by much large breeds of males surrnedered and personaly i havent seen any problems. so my question is that if these dogs are okay what is the huge fear?(there is always fear) i understand the chances and that every dog is differnent but as long as the vet is involved they will direct you in the right direction. we have never had to do a c-section on any mama dog. and we have never lost a mama dog. But then i also understand that some yorkies are the small ones under 4 lbs and i agree those should be spayed early because i dont think they will be okay. there are usually alot of surrenders with beagles that have/had labs pup...thats probably one of the most popular of mixes we get (sad)we have a chuahaha (dont know spelling) mix that just had puppies with a large mix breed, owners didnt know what it was. another mix is the doxie/lab. always labs Its so sad i have a lady now theatening to euthanize all 3 of her dogs because they are barking..then she tells me they had been in a pen for 6 YEARS!!!...i said why do you think their barking......idiots!! we get a lot of pregnant dogs..and we are a non euthanizing group that spays and neutured all our dogs/puppies... and i do think it can be an accident sometimes, it depends on the circumstances. Example: wanting to breed your female yorkie with another yorkie so you didnt get her fixed then here comes ole stud muffin and woops, and that when the bellybands are great to have had. i know that i had never heard of a belly band until i joined YT. and i think it is a wonderful invention and should be used for unwanted pregnancies if your pet in not fixed.

Why are you just now hollering help. A responsible dog owner would have taken all precautions to see that it didn't "just happen". Then, if it did a responsible dog owner would have acted the MINUTE they knew it had happened. Sorry to be so rude but this really makes me upset. Some people should have stuffed animals instead of dogs as someone on here has in their signature line.

Please take your mama to the vet to get checked. He is the only one that can answer all your questions. Your pup needs to have X rays etc. Good luck. I agreed maybe is best to have her spayed.

Please help your dog! If you can't afford a vet get to the ASPCA immediately. It is a shame that innocent animals have to suffer because their human mommas and pappas have no common sense. Sorry to be so vocal but this certainly could have been avoided. Hope she will be ok.
