| I have a 2.7 pound 3 month chihuahua that just got his shots yesterday and the vet gave him like half the dose that he usually does for a bigger sized dog. He said there is no reason a small dog shouyld have the same does as a bigger one. I am so glad because even with the smaller dose our dog had a fever last night and just wasn't feeling well. |

| When N'Stein gots his shots he is sixck for 2 days, fever, shaking, and sleeping a lot. He weight 4 pounds and the vet gives him a very small dose. But N'Stein react very strongly. After the shot for Bordetella he starts sneezing for a week. He's having a very fragile immune system.

| when I took Louie in for his shots, he had a bad reaction as well. I had to rush him back to the vet the next day cause he scared me how he was acting. They had to give him another shot to get him better then another shot to make him not get nasea with the last one. It was horrible watching him react to it the way he did though....

| My vet reduces the amount of the shot because of the smaller size.... also some vets include Lepto in the rabies shot. Lepto can make a dog very sick or even die... My vet doesn't even have Lepto in his office, he has to get it if he needs to give it to a dog, and he will only give it to dogs that are hunting or out doors alot that could come in contact with it... Ask about the Lepto and make sure it's not in the rabies shot!

| Sick to death of these over-vaccinations! Baldness side effect!!! I just have to vent on this issue of over-vaccinating these small yorkies. I just found out about a week ago that my dog had a reaction to the rabies shot that was given 5 months ago! At the source of the place where they vaccinated my dog, she became bald!!! She lost all of the hair in that spot, which was close to her shoulder ! I don't remember signing a waiver for this reaction. Why don't the vets tell you this prior to getting the shot? When I said I wasn't going to get another shot the vet said she wouldn't be able to get a waiver for this non life threatening side effect! I will have her titered next time! If you are on the fence about the vaccine, you should know about this side effect!!! |
