| Red Bumps/Rash and Itchy Trixie has been VERY itchy lately. And this week, while I was giving her a bath, I noticed some red bumps under her armpit and her hind legs. Tonight, all of a sudden I saw a big red spot on her neck, where she's been itching a lot. I'm using a vet recommended medicated shampoo on her for oily skin/coat and itchyness. But have been switching it out with a different brand medicated shampoo (Tropiclean Oatmeal shampoo), because the vet recommended one is so harsh on her coat. Could the new shampoo be causing this? Or could it be allergies? (I've been sneezing like crazy and we have been outside a lot)? The vet has tested her for mites recently and ruled that out... Any recommendations? Oh, I forgot to mention that I did pull a tick off her last week. Could that have anything to do with this?

| Could it possibly be fleas?? One time our Sophie got into some fleas and she had tiny red bumps all over her belly where the fleas had bitten her. Just a thought... Hobbs has really itcy, dry skin and the vet recommended that we use Head & Shoulders shampoo & conditioner on him. His skin is so much better since we started using the Head & Shoulders. Hope she gets well soon! Good luck figuring everything out! |

| my mom's yorkie, remy, has similair symptoms. she has oily skin and gets very itchy/scratchy w/ red bumps. my mom tried the medicated shampoo and changed her to wellness food. no relief. she went to the vet and they put remy on allergy meds. she is much better now. it really helped remy. |

| if there are no fleas/ticks it sounds like she may need allergy meds like remy. i would check with the vet. remy has been so much better with the allergy meds. no more suffering and her skin is great. |
