| My baby Juliet gave me a scare tonight... I had the scare of a lifetime...I am still shaking! I am house sitting for my parents this week...I put Juliet in her room to sleep and Chloe (my chihuahua was with her. Chloe started howling all funny and I was worried she would wake my sister who was asleep above us in my parent's guest room. I went in the room to try to quiet her and heard Juliet (my tiny 2.5lb yorkie girl scratching around funny. I looked in on her and she was thrashing around with her tongue hanging out. I picked her up and she quit moving and breathing. I had to get her breathing again. It was so acary I couldn't think straight. I screamed for my sister because I couldn't find a vet and learned no vet would see me without me having money which I haven't got here with me. (My parents are paying to have me watch their house but they are doing that when they get home.) I held her tiny limp body in my arms and thought I was going to lose her. All of a sudden I thought to try nutrical (i guess at this point I was thinking more like a parent) I stopped panicking and tried that and slowly she started moving again. I hand fed her water and nutrical then held her for a while. She is now moving like a spunky puppy but I don't know if thei is serious or if it had long term effects on her system. I can't think what could have caused it! If anyone has any idea what causes the seizure like reaction and lack of wanting water it would help. I am scared to go to sleep because all i can think of is what if I hadn't checked on her and ignored Chloe. My chihuahua saved Juliet's life. She is my tiny Angel. I am so glad I have this place to write to also. I just don't know what to do...especially if it happens again. Please help!!! Any advice accepted!!!!! Pray for my baby! I am sooo grateful she is still here alive with me. It was like a miracle!!! ~Tru

| I'm sorry to hear what happened! These little ones can go downhill fast. Keep a close eye on her, make sure she eats & drinks. If you can, you could phone your vet and ask him what he thinks. Good luck. Both your babies are cute

Donating YT 30K Club Member | How scary. Cali has had several episodes of hypoglycemia well past the age most puppies out grow it. If she doesn't eat or is stressed out I give her the nutrical as a precaution. She may be stressed out in a different environment. I hope she continues to do well.

| My Lacy had seizures (even on nutrical) due to low blood sugar, but it could be epilepsy. She never had another seizure after about 4 months old then she was really healthy, but everytime she didn't quite seem right, eat right, or have diarrhea I would give the nutrical. Start giving her Nutrical 3x a day, feed her at least 3 times a day, and try not to get her overstressed, overtired, or overly cold. I am so glad you thought to give Nutrical. No Yorkie owner should be without it. Keep a close eye on her and give Chloe a high five from all of us. |

| Thank God for the quick response How scary. Hope baby (and you) are better. Just wanted to let you know to have baby checked asap, do bile acid testing for liver shunt. For 3 months, I thought my first baby, Ripley, was having hypoglycemic events, and I used nutrical, and he was fine in a few minutes. Turned out, they were seizures, advanced liver shunt. Hope that is not the case, but be sure to check. Let us know how baby is.

| update: Juliet was tested for any blood or organ problems and all results came in clean. She does have a mouth infection from still having baby teeth which caused an infection. They are not sure what exactly caused the seizure but they said there were no long term effects! They actually called her the miracle baby and said she had no signs of what happened. She was tested for liver shunt and any other illnesses they could think of and all came back negitave. I am soooooooo happy. I was told to watch her at all times for the next week and to consider leaving her with someone when i can't take her with me places so someone always is there to help her. She is now on meds to reduce and get rid of the mouth infection and I am hoping this never happens again!!! I thank all of you for your concerns and help. I am sooo glad to be a part of this community! We will run more tests in 6 months if everything goes ok but I have an on call vet now incase she relapses. I will keep you all posted on things here at YT! Just please keep her in your thoughts and prayers and I hope it was a one time thing or a problem from the infection...anyway thank you all!!! ~Tru |

| update fix: Sorry everyone...I went to my moms house after going to the vet. I posted an update on here without signing in my name so it was accidently still signed in hers. Anyway Juliet is ok now. I didn't sleep last night but I think I will rest better now. I have been watching her all day and she doesn't seem to be having any problems now. I am hoping it stays that way. Thanks to my parents support I was able to cover her vet bills. ~Tru PS. I have added some photos of Juliet. She is home and sleeping and safe now. :-)
