| Wow i would be very concerned too. 4-6 weeks is a long time for diahrea especially bloody diahrea. It seems like the meds would work by now. I dont have any answers but I would maybe see another vet. I hope Snickers gets better soon.

the bloody diarrhea has been at least 4weeks - diarrhea in general about 6... i think the reason why the vet has been passive about it is because she is acting so healthy but still... its a really long time...

| You have to take her to someone else Quote:
You should have some diapers on her to save your floors.

the 1st vet said it was her food, then said she was fine, then said she was in heat so i found a new vet who diagnosed the giardia/coccidia/colitis 3wks ago she treated it and i brought her back on friday and she wasnt any better so we are continuing the bland diet and the coccidia meds now

| I still think the meds should have had it cleared up by now. When Chachi had diahrea the vet put him on meds and it was gone in 2 or 3 days.

| wow Sorry, to hear the problem has continued. I would keep her on rice and chicken, no treats or anything else. I would take a stool sample to a new vet...ask for a check on the sample..no examine. I would tell them to charge me for an examine if they refuse to check the sample without seeing the dog..but all you want is a 3rd opinion. I would get a shot for stool problem..there are many meds that are given in a shot form and work well...I do not know the exact names of these meds..all I know is when Kate's mother was scratching at death's door with a terrible bout of diarrhea after whelping...he gave her one shot, IV fluid and by evening she was back to normal. Best wishes and never apologize for posting...I would be also. |
