I would get a shot for stool problem..there are many meds that are given in a shot form and work well...I do not know the exact names of these meds..all I know is when Kate's mother was scratching at death's door with a terrible bout of diarrhea after whelping...he gave her one shot, IV fluid and by evening she was back to normal.

thanks i will ask about that med they give in an injection maybe that would help... i know she appears healthy but i cant help but be concerned w/the amt of blood i see on a reg basis it really worries me

Boy, I am stumped!! How awful for your baby! I would be really careful to make sure she is getting a ton of fluids in her every day. Pedialite for babies is good. It has electrolites in it. I would be so scared of dehydration... Obviously you are taking really good care of her already, or she would not be playing and in such great spirits. :p

Keep us updated on what you find out about Snickers. I am worried about her. That is just way too long to have diahrea. Really watch her for dehydration and give her pedialyte.

i will get some pedilyte on the way home i didnt even think of that... i already called the vet and left a message i am waiting for her to call me back
whats worse is that my 6yr old son has been in the hospital for 2wks and they offerred to see her today but i couldnt take it i have a meeting w/his doctor then and i have no-one else to do it
hopefully they can give some advice over the phone - either way she is def going in this week back to the vet its starting to seem like she has always been sick and i feel so bad for her and that i'm not helping her
i'm trying but nothing is working :(

I would take her to another vet. Is there a specialist in your area? I think even though she is acting fine otherwise there is something going on with your baby and more extensive testing needs to be done. Please keep us posted.

i just talked to the vet they want me to give her 1/2tsp 3x/day of pepto bismal and also a longer dose of a metro(something) one of the meds she was already on... and they are going to try eukanuba low residue because she wouldnt eat the prescription food they gave me for her they said its the next step if she still isnt better they want to get a second opinion "in office" possibly friday

Pepto works wonders, i had to use it for my little Haley when she was sick i also had to change her diet to a bland diet like you had to do, oh i wish you all the luck - i hope your baby feels better soon, your in our prayers, my mom was the one who told me about pepto for my babies and it worked Mom's are always right, we always have a bottle in the house when they get sick or throw up i give them some to coate there stomach.....

When my Joey was about 12 weeks old and weighed 1 lb 14 ozs. he had Coccidia too! I was so worried about the diarrhea and then the bloody diarrhea, sometimes it was clear with blood, he was soo tiny. My Vet put Joey on Sulfadimethoxine Oral Solution Gal. The dosage was 1/2 cc the first day and then 1/4 cc once a day for 30 days. He also had Joey on the bland ID food. Within a week the diarrhea was better, no blood. It still took another few days, but it worked. I continued giving the medicine for the 30 days like I was instructed and we have had no more problems. Joey will be 2 years old in July. Didn't know what meds yours has been on, but I know this worked for us.

I am so sorry to hear that your puppy is sick and your son. I know this is trying times for you I will put your family human and fur family in my prays. It is always the tough times that makes us stronger. :)
