| Gracie has a broken leg! Our hearts are broken... Hey everyone, We had the MOST horrible experience last night. My husband and I were both on the computer in our office, and Gracie was laying in his lap when all of a sudden (we dont' know why), she made a flying leap out of his lap onto the floor. She started crying and screaming (the blood curdling kind), and I almost lost it. We immediately took her to the emergency pet clinic, hoping that it was just out of joint or sprained, but the x-rays showed a fracture in her left hind leg. They said she may need surgery, but that it might heal on it's own. They put a splint on her and gave us pain meds and sent us home. This morning, we took her to our regular vet, and he said that he thought since she is so young (4 months) that it would probably heal on its own within a few weeks. He'll put on a new splint on Friday and do another x-ray the following Friday. We knew that Yorkies were delicate, and we're always very careful to keep her from jumping, but it just happened so quick. I am just asking for your prayers and encouragement because it is so hard to see her in this pain, and to have her not be able to play or run for several weeks. It just seems like a horrible nightmare. This forum has been so helpful to us, and I just want to say how much I appreciate all the support we've received so far. I really need it now more than ever. I am sooo sad...

I Love Thor Donating Member | Oh man!! Poor little girl! I know that must be so disturbing for you to see her go through this pain. The outlook sounds good if it may heal on its own! I wish her a speedy recovery!!! |

| Thank you! Ladies, Thank you all so much for the kind words, hugs, and prayers. They really do mean a lot to me. We never imagined that anything like this would ever happen, so it has been somewhat of a shock to us. I've had dogs all my life and never had anything like this happen. We just lost our Cairn Terrier last September, and that really tore me up. I guess this just kind of brought all that back for me.. Once again, I have to thank you for being so kind-hearted and supportive. P.S. Villette, thanks for the stroller idea. We just may have to check into that.
