| Need Expert Advice My precious Zeus was very sick last week. He would eat very little (but still drank water) for 3 days, and we had to wait to get a stool sample that could be taken to the vet. When we finally got the stool sample, we found out he had bacteria rods in his stool. The vet did not say it was the dreaded chlostridium; however, he did have inflamed intestines. He is on antibiotics and has gotten better, but I have a question I'm hoping someone can answer. How in the world did he get it? He does not go outside. He uses a pad in our house. From everything I've investigated, it comes from contaminated dirt or eating feces. Any help is greatly appreciated. I might add that our sweet Zeu-Zeu has terrible gastrointestinal problems. He has a bleeding ulcer and reflux from taking NSAIDs for his LCP, so we deal with blood in vomit and stool sometimes. This time really scared us. Thank you for any advice/help. |

| I cannot offer any help, but just wanted to say how sorry I am that you went through this terror and that I am truly grateful and happy for you that little Zeus is coming out of this...I (kinda) know how deeply you love your darling babies. I'm praying and knowing all will be well for you and yours. Give Zeus extra pats and smooches from Piper and me--along with a lot of positive energy and big love! |

| Piper got really sick to her stomach one night shortly before I had to go to work. Upon arrival I immediately told my boss I had to go home asap (didn't ask, but stated). I was in tears half of my shift and could barely concentrate; thank God my boss and co-workers were sympathetic and I dashed home before the sun was up. I was so nervous as I opened front door I was shaking. AND THERE WAS LITTLE PIPER ALL BOUNCY AND EXCITED FOR ME TO BE HOME! I just dropped to my knees to thank God. I truly get and mean it when anyone says, "They're everything to me." Piper is my whole life! All the best for everyone in your wonderful family; I, too, am glad your son was there for his "baby brother" |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Poor babies, both not feeling totally well ! With Zeus, do you give bully sticks or anything similar? If so, that's likely the culprit as they're notorious for harboring bad bacteria - we've had dogs here get almost deadly clostridium. On Zeu-Zeu - has the vet recommended Sucralfate...?

| Are the tendons safe for pooches?? Piper loves turkey tendons and my vet said they were good, but I always appreciate other opinions/experiences. I also picked up beef tendons in hopes they'd last longer, cuz these suckers are pricey. Piper will chomp on 'em in lieu of her turkey, but she is not real keen on the beef.
