Need Expert Advice My precious Zeus was very sick last week. He would eat very little (but still drank water) for 3 days, and we had to wait to get a stool sample that could be taken to the vet. When we finally got the stool sample, we found out he had bacteria rods in his stool. The vet did not say it was the dreaded chlostridium; however, he did have inflamed intestines. He is on antibiotics and has gotten better, but I have a question I'm hoping someone can answer. How in the world did he get it? He does not go outside. He uses a pad in our house. From everything I've investigated, it comes from contaminated dirt or eating feces. Any help is greatly appreciated. I might add that our sweet Zeu-Zeu has terrible gastrointestinal problems. He has a bleeding ulcer and reflux from taking NSAIDs for his LCP, so we deal with blood in vomit and stool sometimes. This time really scared us. Thank you for any advice/help. |
