| Zoey - GI Issues, Need Help My 8 year old yorkie is definitely not her peppy self - doesn't jump on couch - doesn't bark muck - stays very close to us -is very Leary when going up steps - she seems afraid. Her stomach is swollen. I have taken her to the vet - she is on Prednisolone-Metronidazole eating only prescription diet food w/d -I/d and -d/d which I mix together each morning and night for she was vomiting - diarrhea . Vomiting has stopped and stool is starting to harden a little but she is definitely not herself and I was told she would have to take her medicines forever or how long she lives- I am worried she won't be herself again - please help me understand that I am doing the right thing for her Fran |

| They must think it is IBD or lymphangectasia. Have they done blood work? Any other diagnostics?

| It sounds like it is a protein losing enteropathy...could be lymphangectasia. I had a pup with that...she lived for 5 1/2 years. I lost her recently but not because of that condition...she developed cancer. She was on prednisone when first diagnosed .. then they were able to taper it off. Hopefully that will happen with your Zoey. Did they discuss the importance of a low fat diet for her? Here is a link that might be helpful: Intestinal Lymphangiectasia - Mar Vista Animal Medical Center

| I just requested that these posts about Zoey be moved to it's own thread. You might get more feedback that way.
