YT 500 Club Member | Bless your heart. You have done everything right. My little one had a bout with this several months ago. He was vomiting. Stayed in doggie hospital one day and has been good ever since. The vet did give him the wet low fat Rx food. I still give it to him mixed with his Merrick dry food. My vet also said no need to change regular food. But, since then I have found a dry food with less fat than what he was eating. Just be vigilant with what she does eat. Food & treats. Good luck and try to not be so stressed.

| Thanks Shicks I just found the article on DogFoodAdvisor that the Pet Fresh in dry matter weight has a fat content of 27% Show 6% crude fat minimum on the label?? I will try to feed her the Hills, see if she likes it...although Royal Canin "sounds" better to my snooty dog food ear ( ha!). Does anyone know if any of the RX foods have ANY meat at all? I will add boiled chicken to whatever I choose, but I will keep researching the Eukenuba, Purina, Hills and Royal Canin. I want a wet for meals and a dry for free feeding for emergencies/out of vet food/away past meal time by accident. |

| Thanks to all! I couldn't find anything store brand type that had low enough fat...I ordered the Script Hills ID Chicken stew and the dry from Chewy.com. She had a bit and seemed to like it. I hope all goes well. One of the downsides that I've been reading...is that the dog doesn't like it as much as the low fat isn't satisfying their hunger and they're STARVING. Everyone is mentioning how their dogs are standing at the bowl so excited and gobble it...they don't love it-- they're just so hungry. I think I may continue to put boiled chicken in with it...protein will satisfy- I hope. Thanks for all the suggestions. |
